It went superquiet after the initial teasing - I'm wondering if they got let down by someone high up the bill just when they thought they were ready to go.

In light of this week's news, I guess that might have been BCNR.

I was wondering the same thing about BCNR.  But then I was just thinking they could easily leave them off the first announcement…dunno.

Yeah you wouldn't necessarily have thought they were significant enough to delay it, but I guess it might have had a knock-on effect.

I think we did this a few years ago...if people want to guess 10 acts on the line up, I will count them all up and announce the winner. Bonus points if they weren't on the 2020 line up or are not on the EOTR line up. I think @benali already confirmed Keg so will not be counting them. I also won't be counting Pictish Trail as he is always on the line up.

My 10 will be:

1. Parquet Courts

2. Ty Segall

3. Alex G

4. Viagra Boys

5. BADBADNOTGOOD

6. Blue Bendy

7. Mdou Moctar

8. Low

9. Cate Le Bon

10. Beach House

Less confidence, but going to throw in a curveball prediction - Dry Cleaning heading or sub-heading Far Out on Sunday.

Would be a meteoric rise from Rising to Far Out headliner. More likely sub in there but can definitely see them booked.

Really hoping they pull it out the bag this year with headliners, with it being the anniversary I was hoping something similar to the scale of End of the Road's anniversary a few years back (Tame Impala, Sufjan Stevens and War on Drugs). Not necessarily those acts, just acts of that size. Beach House would be great for me, hoping we get something that no one is predicting rather than someone always on the festival circuit like Idles. I like Idles but I've also seen them loads now and Green Man/Eotr should be about seeing bands you can't see at every other festival.

I'm gonna go for a few smaller acts no one else has chosen with a couple of heavy hitting psych bands, might end up with no points but worth a gamble.

Idles would be pretty much the worst headline booking they could do at this point imo. I've got no interest in seeing King Gizzard but even someone like that would be better than the band that's somehow managed to play every patch of grass in the country during a pandemic.

My expectations are sky high and I’m expecting MK, Little Simz, Beach House and Animal Collective.

Reality may strike hard as GM may have done something mad like MK, IDLES, Super Furry Animals, Little Dragon.

Legss are surely going to be booked for Rising. And it’ll be the set of the weekend!

Thursday:
Far Out - Slowdive

Friday:
Mountain - Super Furry Animals, Bikini Kill
Far Out - BadBadNotGood

Saturday:
Mountain - Beach House, Spiritualized
Far Out - Ty Segall

Sunday:
Mountain - Michael Kiwanuka, Arlo Parks
Far Out - Parquet Courts

Anything to suggest Slowdive are touring? I’ve managed to miss them since they’ve been back so I’d love for them to be there.

In my head, Ty Segall subs far out underneath Parquet Courts.

Got all my fingers crossed for Les Savy Fav as well.  They’re at Primavera so there’s a slim chance.  One of the best bands I’ve ever seen live!

Surely they’ll be in Europe for more than just one festival! I’m just glad that they’re active again, I missed the boat on them the first time round
