Never know where to post this kind of stuff without creating new threads or just throwing it somewhere unrelated so thought now would be as good a time as any to make an all encompassing thread like this considering some happenings today, so use this thread if you’ve got some news to discuss that perhaps doesn’t warrant an entire thread of its own.

Two pretty notable deaths today:

Joey Jordison of Slipknot passed away in his sleep last night. Wasn’t in the band any longer but definitely a huge part of their early sound and on metal drumming altogether. Was lucky to be able to catch him live with Slipknot back on ‘08 and boy could that guy drum. 

And one a little closer to home for the festival, Dusty Hill of ZZ Top passed away today. Guy was in his seventies so not quite as big of a shock, but will be interesting to see if the band continues without him considering him and Billy with their glorious beards being front and centre has always been the image that comes to mind for the band; would seem wrong to replace him. 

RIP to them both.

Actually gutted to hear about Joey. I was a bit of a Slipknot fan back in the early 00s and saw them a few times. They were such a fun live band. Such happy memories of seeing them with my best mate, who is also sadly no longer with us. She had a bit of a thing for Joey for a brief time.
