Hospital admissions haven’t increased as much as some feared so there is a silver lining to be had in that regard.

Anyone adjusted what they’ve been doing?

Managed to get my booster on Weds which was good.

I'm happy for restrictions to continue as long as the scientists (not politicians) think is necessary.  It's no pain to wear a mask in company and be sensible.

This is one of the main issues for me. Hospitality is getting absolutely shafted and nothing has been done financially.

I think they will have to do something. Loads of places in London already closing. Such an important time of year for so many businesses.

It would make absolutely no sense to me to make such big strides in the booster rollout and then put everyone in lockdown and let them back out when those boosters start to wain.

I enjoy gigs, I enjoy eating out and meeting friends and family and holidays abroad.  I have many friends in the entertainment and hospitality business and have helped run festivals but, hard though it is for everyone, and even though I'm fully jabbed, I would readily pass on all of that for a while longer if it helps save a life or avoids someone getting Covid.

In terms of personal news, got a positive LFT on Sat. Been isolating since, waiting for my PCR. Aside from sniffles, no symptoms.

Doesn't change my views that any more restrictions are a waste of time and shouldn't be enacted.

Oh turns out SAGE aren't making predictions or recommendations. They've been given a brief (EXCLUDING POSITIVE DATA) to do a worse case scenario briefing. The lower limits of what they say will happen aren't a beat case scenario.  They are a least worse case scenario

They were modelling worse case scenarios to help those making decisions decide on what or if any restrictions are needed. I expect those making these decisions know that these are worst case, but to some degree have to plan for worst - and still a spectrum of outcomes depending on lots of things.
