So who were the new additions, The Skints and Fat White Family?

Definitely a lot of shouty bands this year!

The Now, Fat white Family, The Skints, Porridge Radio, Cottons, Pierce Brothers, Brian Stone, True Deceivers, Andrew Cushin and the Vapors all added

My spam filter had hidden it, a shame but at least my liver is happy.

I did think that...our original plan was I would go Wednesday and my other half and babby would join me when the babby finished school on Friday. That would have been bloody lethal.

There is, I'd have had Kid Kapichi over Bob Vylan though!

We're doing that Bigfoot festival again not long after Bearded. They made the first announcement yesterday and Kid Kapichi are one of a few announced I really want to see...that song with Bob Vylan is an absolute banger!

Seen them twice in the last three months, awesome live!

Question for regulars

First time at BT (tickets from last year) my brother is going in his Campervan, what are the rules for pitching tents beside a camper in the live-in vehicle fields?

Pitches are 7m x 7m and marked out.

As long as the tent fits in with the campervan inside the pitch it's fine.

Excellent, it's one of those Nissan Elgrand imports so not very big and I'm a little old for top and tailing with my kid brother!

Line up is looking good, I have offered an early sacrifice to the weather gods (burnt pizza'll be OK?) and I cannot wait to be back out in a field again. Bought these tickets last year when the choice was between BT and Green Man so I probably put a curse on it in 21. Sorry.

Interesting! Does make me worry they were facing losing money and required some backing from someone with deep pockets. Fair enough, really. I doubt anything around the festival itself will really change.

most festivals lose money from what i hear, DHP will hopefully be a good partner for bearded. i'm struggling to see whats in it for dhp.

Hi all

I’m part of the Rock City team that will be organising Bearded Theory for the first time this year! We’re really excited about this festival and feel it’s a perfect fit with the bands we already promote and put on at Rock City.

With this being our first year organising the festival I’d love to get some feedback from regular attendees on what you love about it or what you’d like to see included this year? What do you like drinking? What are the best areas/bars? Is there anything missing on the bar line-up? Anything that you think would make the festival better?

All feedback is welcome 😊

Look forward to seeing you all in May!

What you’d like to see included this year? - Pretty much all announced isn't it.

What do you like drinking? Bars have more than enough choice and really do not need changing

What are the best areas/bars? Woodland and Tea tent

Is there anything missing on the bar line-up? IMHO lineup is the best yet

Anything that you think would make the festival better? Not changing anything for the sake of change, not commercialising it in any way....................... it is already the best there is.

100% This

Don't change anything, it's perfect as it is.

Thanks for engaging. I hope this won't come across as too negative, because it's fully intended to be constructive.

I'll be blunt and say that while I'll happily tell anyone who'll listen that Rock City is the best venue in the country - the alcohol options leave a lot to be desired, whereas Bearded has already nailed that better than any other festival I've seen. So I'd say please "don't fix what's not broken" in terms of bars.

It's great to have such a wide choice of quality beer at sensible prices, and because of that (unlike a lot of events), there's an actual desire to use the on site bars. Personally speaking (and I realise that this won't apply for everyone else), I'd rather stay sober than drink something I don't like or that's crazily priced - and I'm certain that because of that, the bars at Bearded take more from me than most other Festivals.

The previous organisers always took the approach of "build the festival we'd want to go to" - I strongly recommend continuing with that philosophy as it does work. So for example one of the things I appreciate about Bearded is not feeling like cattle - no significant checks going into the arena other than a soft wristband check (to the extent that sometimes people don't even realise that there is a separate arena) does make a huge difference compared to the Live Nation style events.

I was under the impression the original BT team would still be organising it as usual and DHP were partners and Rich and Steve would continue to be at the forefront..as per the blog update.

Maybe also ask for the same on this BT Chat group on FB. I reckon you will get the same answers from a far busier social media avenue.

I replied as they asked - but as this is the only place they have posted anything I have seen I do wonder if it is actually a real post...........why would they be asking what we want included this year and why ask if there is anything missing from the bar list when it has not be released yet?
