I meant to post this a bit earlier than the last day for submissions... but worth a quick check on here if like me you're trying to see what you might have missed 🙂

Thanks for this. Didn't realise Cloves' album was out. Spotify likes to show me new releases but it's just stuff from weeks ago. Does my head in. Tidal always put the proper new stuff, no matter how unpopular it was going to be, right at the front.

Righty, apologies one and all but this is going to be short and sharp. No time to craft pithy takes or compile stats I'm afraid; this month we're straight down to brass tacks. One very clear runaway winner this month.

1. ICEAGE - SEEK SHELTER (30 POINTS)

2. SQUID - BRIGHT GREEN FIELD (14 POINTS)

3. ST. VINCENT - DADDY'S HOME (13 POINTS)

So after 5 months here are your 15 contenders so far:

Iceage - Seek Shelter
Squid - Bright Green Field
St. Vincent - Daddy's Home
Royal Blood - Typhoons
Dry Cleaning - New Long Leg
The Coral - Coral Island
Arab Strap - As Days Get Dark
Bicep - Isles
Black Country, New Road - For the First Time
Nick Cave and Warren Ellis - Carnage
Lana Del Rey - Chemtrails Over the Country Club
For Those I Love - For Those I Love
Mogwai - As the Love Continues
Arlo Parks - Collapsed in Sunbeams
Shame - Drunk Tank Pink

Nice work @Quark.

I'm happy to take on AOTM June admin duties if no-one else fancies it.

I look forward to your way with words!

I'll do a later month too!

Looking at that year list so far - a couple of albums on there I loved but haven't gone back to in a while!

Hard to believe the end of this month will be halfway point already. Must re-visit some of my favourites and start thinking about best albums of the first half.

I'm happy to do October as long as the internet in my holiday cottage is ok I should have time to do it.

On that note I see Stereogum has put their mid-point list out already. Quite a lot of there not on my radar

How can I have not heard of that many of them. There's too much music in the world! Either that or I need to be cloned or get several pairs of ears capable of listening to different things at once.

You should probably buy more vinyl.

😄 Enabler!! Received 2 pre-orders in the post yesterday but I can't play any of it at the moment as it's the dogs recovery room 😄 End of this month we finally get the house back to normal!!

Petition to get you to make a Spotify playlist with one song from every one of those albums.

Not gonna lie, love that number one album (having not heard of it before reading the list). Vocals sound kinda like the guy from Eagulls.
