eFestivals
I believe I saw something on TV the other day which confirmed arlonparks as winning three awards this year.
Quark
You know the world's upside down when the annual roasting of the BRITs gets completely overlooked.
Suprefan
Coldplay is opening the show with a performance on a boat floating on the Thames. If somebody gonna firebomb it? Edited May 11, 2021 by Suprefan
Supernintendo Chalmers
I only know the Harry Styles tune because it was used as hold music by PlusNet
SwedgeAntilles
Think the only thing I've heard on either short list was the Arlo Parks album. Was about to say Dua Lipa too, but then realised I was getting confused with the Charli XCX album. No, it's the children who are wrong etc.
nikkic
Jessie Ware the clear winner on the album front for me, so obviously she won’t get it.
Punksnotdead
It's good to see a semi normal awards show, with crowds. Having said that, I definitely won't be watching - it's not for me!

I guess it figures really. Award shows are on their arse and the big, communal viewing experience doesn't exist in the same way anymore. All this talk of how much the world will or should go back to the way it was, but I am 100% sure that the world is a better place when a group of people can come together on an internet forum in real time and laugh at a dancer dressed as a house falling off a stage. Not the same when you're not all watching it on telly at the same time. Ripping into Kiedis for the 100th time just doesn't have the same oomph. He truly doesn't deserve the apologists.

Padjeq
Watching the Brits every year to try and reach the highest I ever felt in my life: watching Justin Timberlake debut Mirrors on stage there in a live performance, almost a decade ago. Quark
On the original point from Mattymooz though, the singles list is leaving me colder than a Pink Floyd reunion. A couple of decent ones on the album list, but it really all feels a bit....meh. Seems strange considering how stacked a lot of us felt 2020 was with good stuff. Clearly just a lot of it was stuff flying under the mainstream radar.

Hugh Jass
As I get older each year I recognise fewer and fewer names on the nominations lists. It's the same as the Reading/Leeds poster.
