Me on @Quark's shoulders at the Efest meet in 2019.  I'd mentioned on the forum that I'd never been on anybody's shoulders at a festival and he said we should put that right.  This is the result.  I usually hate photos of myself but I think this one just sums up the festival.  Thanks to whoever took it (sorry I can't remember your name).

That's a great pic! On a similar theme, this is me on top of my dear friend Daisy's shoulders - absolutely loving life as Radiohead did Fake Plastic Trees. I too usually hate all pictures of me, but I love this one..

The exact same thing happened to me in 2017. We met a friend of a friend during the Foos who said he’d never been on someone’s shoulders, prompting me to say’ “me neither.” The result was popping each other up for a bit. I’m 6” and about 13 and a half stone so no mean feat from him… he was 6’4” and about 18 and keeping up there near killed me 😂

I clearly didn’t learn a lesson because at the Killers in 2019 I asked a guy we were working with whether he’d ever been on someone’s shoulders at a gig and offered to boost him up when he said no. He was a similar size.
Despite being slightly above average size and build I think spending so much time around people larger than me through rugby has given me a form of short man complex 😂

I can't remember how it came about as I was in the crowd on my tod, but a very nice chap put the same question to me watching Biffy Clyro at Benicassim. Same build as you so I've always been the lifter, but a couple of minutes later I got my first shoulder view of a gig.

It was amazing, right up to the point when I got a pint of piss yeeted at the back of my head 😂

My old friends from school have always thought of me as "the big one" and couldn't get their heads around me telling them I'm really not. Then they came on my stag and met the rest of the team...

On the hill in 2017, there was a good few of us that year. Absolutely love this picture, we all look so happy.

2019 only @elgatonegrofabricwardrobe and I managed to get tickets. Not sure why I thought that wig was a good idea.

Excitement levels for this year are getting ridiculous now.

Cheers dude. Panaromic from my phone, pure fluked that one

(although I did clean up all the rubbish in Photoshop after 😬)

Thought I'd share back an iffy panoramic from my phone in 2019

Dunno how well that comes across! Took it when I was a bit drunk waiting for the Chems to come on. The sky was amazing.

I think I might have said when we originally discussed it, that at a gig, my son just temporarily lifted me to his eye level and I was gobsmacked at the view.  And similarly, he bent down to my eye level and was similarly surprised at how little I could see.

This is the one that does it for me. My dad back in 1986. He loved music and he loved Glastonbury. I can just tell in this photo he's reflecting on how awesome life is in his happy place. Always talked about the unmistakable energy.  Sadly no longer with us or I'm sure he'd still be raving with me.Screenshot_20220512-225855_Instagram.thumb.jpg.4864fccb9de2747579c02c9debbdf379.jpg

Ah I was there for this, it was my first Glastonbury! That band were great, tried to see them back in the real world afterwards but never managed to. King Porter Stomp if I remember rightly
