People were saying the same thing about the 2019 headliners tbh, I wouldn't get my hopes up, I'm not sure why they would announce more headliners after W1 is already sold out and W2 is selling pretty well.

There will be some artists added to the lineup for sure, but I think they will mostly be for Primavera/Ray Ban and the smaller stages.

I have said so many times that Bad Bunny is 99% in. Just wait, my friends.

Just seems like a great way to piss off a bunch of people announcing probably the biggest headliner after tickets have gone on sale and/or sold out already.

They have sold in about 7 hours around 20k new tickets with prices higher than ever, there are 365 left to the festival with several names to be announced (from bottom lines to headliner). They're obviously going to sell out every single ticket.

Really? Are we expecting more headliners?

I’m not ruling out there being another headliner but it doesn’t make much sense. Even the weakest days are still at least as strong as the 2019 headliners and today has shown that the current acts are more than strong enough to sell a lot of tickets. Obviously this depends on availability but it would make much more sense to keep Bad Bunny back for 2023, given they’re already using up a lot of headliners next year.

I’m expecting a few decent sized names to be announced but mostly smaller acts. I saw someone mention Cat Power earlier, that’s about as big as I’m expecting now. As much as the second weekend’s lineup is weaker than the first weekend, it’s still a good lineup and for anyone not going for the first weekend acts like Tame Impala, The Strokes and Tyler the Creator are very big names.

Bagged my first tickets to Primavera today for Weekend 2.

Any tips for a first timer (to the festival and the city)?

Top 3 for W2:

9 Jun - Gorillaz, Tyler, King Gizzard, D

10 Jun - Lorde, The Strokes, Run The Jewels

11 Jun - Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Jessie Ware, Viagra Boys

I'm against conspiranoia, but the sold out looks fishy. When festivals have day and weekend tickets, it's rare both types sell out at the exact same time. Add to the equation W1 + W2 also ran out.

Meanwhile, process to return tickets just started today. Announcing the sold-out is at least misleading.

I say they are trying to drive sales into the second weekend. I might be proven wrong, but more tickets will be available on a second round or via Dice resale. It would be nice if people joining the waiting list posts its success (or failure) on getting tickets. If demand was so high, might be strange, to put it mildly, to be able to get passes thanks to Dice's Waiting List.

I love they creativity to create hype, but at the same time this is putting buyers as the least important actor of your business.

That’s really interesting, never thought of that.

Hmm I'd say it's a real sold out today because the refunds haven't been proceded so 80k (at least) people own a ticket and given that no choice means Weekend 1, it is technically sold out. Pretty sure several people who already are on the waiting list will get a ticket for that one.

I definitely think weekend 2 is gonna sell out. No idea on what the time frame could be, but I don’t think it’s gonna be too long what with weekend 1 selling out so quickly and the inevitable FOMO kicking in for a lot of people.

Regardless of if weekend 1 is clearly the stronger lineup, weekend 2 is shit hot, especially if you’re not already attending the first weekend and so aren’t already getting the chance to see The Strokes, Tyler, Tame Impala etc who are all big draws.

Gotta remember this isn’t like a normal year and they’ve increased capacity for good reason. Easily the lineup of next summer (thus far, of course, but it’s gonna be hard to beat), and it being in beautiful Barcelona is sure to help.

You’ve changed your tune dramatically!

This is seeing things in a very simple way.

If you already have an artist hired, and you do not announce him  due certain reasons, you do not break the contract because the  "sold out". It does not make any sense.

Interesting divergence of opinions.

I'd predict it will never sell out!

How so? It's incredibly strong as well. Weekend 1 was always going to sell out earlier (apart from the lineup) because it was the original weekend. But Weekend 2 will follow suit soon enough.

Because they won't need to sell 10% more tickets than the last edition...or even 30% more tickets.

No, to sell out both weekends, they'll need to sell a whopping 166% more tickets.

Review of my previously unheard acts from weekend 1 I’ve discovered from shuffling a playlist the last few days:

Kareem Ali - Sounded okay, need to hear more.

Za! - Fucking good song, hope the rest is good too.

Lingua Ignota - Been interested in checking this act out as I’d seen lots of hype and knew it was some kinda heavy music. What was this? Don’t understand it. Don’t think it’s music. Felt like I was drowning and somebody was booting me in the head. Think I might die if I saw it at Primavera.

Abbath - Yeah not bad.

Amaia - w*nk.

The Armed - Awful. Awful. Apparently their older stuff is better than the new album (which the song I heard was from), but this was bad.

OM - Rubbish.

Tropical Fuck Storm - Seen a lot about them on here. Thought it’d be good. Half way through the song I considered driving into a wall. Crap band.

Lingua Ignota again - Not sure my brain works anymore.

María José Llergo - This was nice. Very nice vibe. Could see myself having a really nice time watching this in the sun with a beer.

C. Tangana - *Insert that video of Roy Keane saying “ah jeez, really?”* So bad.

Not sure I ever doubted the ability to sell a second weekend - just that I was annoyed at the way they went about announcing it so late etc (I think? I’m often annoyed at a lot of things so some slip through the cracks).

Pretty sure you wrote the chances were nil to have a second weekend or words to that effect (not having a go by the way, just teasing in my own crap way).

In fact that was the widespread mood on here.

And now the general tone is naturally we have a full second weekend and with a higher capacity and of course it will sell out quickly!

Can anyone guide me on where to start with Yeah Yeah Yeah's?

Start with the brilliant debut and work your way up. I'd say that one (Fever To Tell) and the third one (It's Blitz!) are their best ones. But since their discography is only 4 records big, it's easy to dig in. 😅

wrong.

Might have just been a bad song. Was something about letting my tyres down. Will still give them a fair chance when other songs come on the playlist.

First three albums are all great tbh. If you’re looking for some songs to check out, some big hitters are: Date with the Night, Maps, Gold Lion, Zero, Heads Will Roll, Sacrilege.
