Interesting.....wonder if they are going to allow camping and if its going to be a lot bigger than normal?

My thoughts exactly.

I've put the feelers out there to see if there's any other info knocking around.

Without looking in to the complexities of licensing etc is there anything stopping it being say a 2 stage festival for instance?

Noise based licenses, local road closures etc. would also have to be applied for wouldn't they?

So many questions...! I'm sure someone on here can answer those sort of things though...

Possibly might be one outdoor main stage (JP size stage)  one tent (one of the dance tent size?) and then maybe utilise the Woods?

Perhaps a 20-30,000 sized event might be enough to cover the money they need to make lost on not holding this years event.

Camping in the Pyramid field would be a novel experience! 😄

Theres going to be a lot of disappointed ticket holders to some festivals this year for sure, some will not be going ahead

Any context or reasoning behind this statement or just a gloomy prediction?

Is our assumption that tickets would only be sold in local the area still, just a wider area?

I suppose it depends on the volume of tickets they have to shift?

Everything in my eyes depends on that and also if they are intending on having on site camping.

If you have onsite camping then that opens up a more general ticket sale however if there's no onsite camping obviously your target market is going to primarily be those who live fairly local.

If they had onsite camping you then have to wonder if it'll be a case of no late night entertainment (due to sound limits through the night etc)

If they don't have onsite camping then perhaps that limits the length / size of any event because you have to then look at the roads surrounding the site getting people in / out each day.

Someone should start a thread about it, it's got me right in the feels talking about this and makes a change from covid!

My guess would be no camping. As I said above camping would mean more green space being used and the actual farm being out of commission for longer.

I think i'd be inclined to say this as well.

In which case perhaps it will just be a one day event? It just seems implausible to snarl up the roads both in the morning & evening for multiple days without having to have already applied (assuming this would involve public consultation given it would be at a different time of the year to the normal festival?) and thus plans effectively being leaked widely?

Should say obviously this contravenes with what I was told yesterday evening but I'd always leaned towards perhaps a 1 day BST style event.

I reckon the Specials might be playing this. Just a hunch...👀

This feels like it might be a cue for me to real out my 'classic' 'the time the waiter said to me 'excuse me sir, have you seen the specials?'' in a restaurant 'anecdote'.

I’m going to go with 2 nights ... optional luxury camping plus normal .. 40,000 odd capacity and a couple of stages ... maybe use worthy view as the camping plus park stage ?! Actually it would probably all need to be on the Eavis Land to make it much easier .. based on nothing whatsoever but it’s always fun to speculate

S.E Corner only? 😄

Wouldn't be for the faint hearted!

My mate who lives in Glastonbury has just said he's heard similar from a fiend of his who works at the festival.

I’ve said it before. The Park would be an amazing festival in its own right. Spin that bad boy up and a few fields of camping for a three night fest.

I have to ask...

Didn't you think it was a trifle unnecessary to see the crack in the Indian's bottom?
