That's what I mean. Not Glastonbury, but the people behind it. Do you think it would be at the Glastonbury site, or elsewhere?

I know they usually do Pilton Party, but I feel like they'd surely want to do something bigger than that? I personally think putting it on the Pyramid Stage would be cool.

I expect something on some of the site, although perhaps not using the Pyramid.

It's possible that it might be one of the trial events I guess.

After all, there do have to be some trials for later larger festivals to happen from 21st June

Do there? What would be the point? As far as I am concerned, it is untenable and inconceivable that any decent-sized festival can happen in any way without complete lifting of restrictions. It's just not physically possible. Social distancing at any of the sites we know, without reducing capacity by 80% (I made that number up...) is impossible and unenforceable. The only exception to that could be mandating mask wearing but, again, how do you enforce that? Accepting all of that, doing small events pre-21 June does not in anyway inform what comes thereafter.

I think Reading is going to be on the brink of being fine. But its all about what the festival has planned for attendees. Nobody has given details on what theyre doing to meet government requirements and such. Im sure some are hoping that they wont need to do anything at all except maybe more hand wash stations and sanitizer everywhere.

The only requirement they could practically implement would be a massive increase in sanitiser availability and a push to encourage punters to use it. Anything else would. not. work.*

*except, conceivably, vaccine passports on entry 😬

hopefully see you there ... if anyone spots anything about tickets for this one please give me a shout 🙂

You been before? Couple of my mates have been going for years and rate it.

They said an annoucment if its going ahead will be made in April, so I would expect ticket sales to commence swiftly after that if it gets the green light.

The fact Bigfoot think they can do a socially distanced multi day camping music festival because they once put on an all seated daytime craft beer festival is hilarious

the fact they think people will pay money to attend a socially distanced event that they believed when they bought a ticket wouldn’t be is even funnier.

they will move dates or cancel. People will ask for a refund or to roll their ticket to the next year / when they can do it normally

The problem is many potential punters wont realise this from the messages BigFoot are releasing.

They actually posted 'What great news yesterday' in response to the roadmap which effectively all but cancelled the festival. This predatory messaging shouldn't be allowed as i imagine a few people will have booked without realising theres a very small chance the festival can actually go ahead as initially planned.

The point is the govt has said there will be trials, perhaps with testing/vac-paasports.

Presumably the trials won't be socially distanced or masked, as it's about testing large unrestricted fests for after 21st june.

Other (smaller) festivals are great to get around quickly and not too many queues!
