So...Johnson needs to go because he a dodgy twat and a clown and it's kind of embarrassing having him as our PM...but at same time if you're going to have a tory govt but want the govt to spend more on health/social care, levelling up, net zero etc., maybe he's you're best bet. In terms of next election, who knows what outcome helps the tories, Johnson is massively damaged at the moment, but at same time he's a celeb as well as a politician and he is always the story, I have no idea if Sunak/Truss/whoever would be popular..probably depends on how economy does over next few years and how levelling up goes.

Levelling up is a meaningless phrase to make you think the Tories are improving underfunded areas whereas they are actually cutting funding even more in those areas.

well yeah...and if things not visibly improving by next election a lot of those red wall voters who leant tories a vote in 2019 will vote for someone else (or not vote) next time.

They have to take the current opportunity with two hands, who knows if they’ll get another. Throw the kitchen sink at forcing him out and then back themselves to beat either Truss or Sunak. I don’t think either of them are particularly standout politicians, and neither would be popular in the way Johnson was. Throw the kitchen sink at winning the red wall back and some seats in Scotland.

This is the tactic...Johnson broke rules just like you...good old boris...what a proper geezer

Perhaps all the Tory MPs who want to support Boris should tell us about the rules they personally broke in solidarity? Kinda like the end of Spartacus? Yunno, to show us everyone was at it and it’s normal.

well they can keep calling him to resign and briniging it up in parliament and to the media, but it is ultimately in the hands of tory MPs, and if Johnson stays eventually the news will move on and people will get bored of it. Just have to see what happens with the local elections in May.
