The Mog is coming out punching....

Another one who is going on the back benches if Boris goes...

idiots like Rees Mogg are manna from heaven to the snp. Sturgeon doesn’t need to explain her dodgy economic policies, the drop in education standards, the disgraceful drug death figures etc.  all she has to do is utter a few soundbites and empty rhetoric whilst Johnson and his cabal fuck everything up.  The U.K. desperately needs a labour revival, especially in Scotland. There are over 40 safe seats here they used to rely on, all gone.

Reckon there's some in tory party, the hardcore brexit lot like Rees Mogg, who wouldn't actually mind the UK breaking up.

a blairite govt from sturgeon

I don't accept that...  Blair - whatever you think of him - was far more capable than Sturgeon.  I don't know what I would call Sturgeons government.  It just seems like a mess.

What is blairite? Spend more on public services but also marketise public services? Is that what sturgeon is about? To be honest apart from Scottish independence I know nothing about SNP policies.

its about talking a good fight but not fighting the fight, there's little that's left wing about them.

Blairs vision was...

Reform without Money = failure (Tories)

Money without Reform = failure (old Labour)

Reform and Money = success (Blair / New Labour)

He also felt you have to create a partnership between the public and private sectors.  You see this with the PFI movement.  Wasn't a great execution mind - but also - got a lot of shit built when a lot of shit needed to be rebuilt....

Its hard to call anything else policy wise Blairite as this is what was unique about Blairs leadership.  Brown (he stepped away from new labour thinking) / Labour traditionally go down the path of Money without Reform.  Tories do Reform without Money.

I don't see anything remotely bliarite in Scotland to be honest.

Is the timing of JVT’s departure an unlucky coincidence or a direct result of yesterdays large dose of bullshit?

Nothing to do with Party Gate - he was only ever on loan to the government.

Saying that - he is probably happy to step away from this shit show - the pandemic is largely over anyway.  We are going to enter a new more normal phase now where covid is treated like flu.

Sturgeon isn’t blairite.  The snp government is all things to all men.  Left wing in the former working class areas, more liberal In the rural and highland areas. They have one aim and will say and do anything to reach that goal.  Blair had policies that , whatever you thought of them, were workable.  The nationalists have no realistic workable economic policies, they spout soundbites and empty rhetoric, with the convenient excuse of blaming Westminster for everything. Just listen to Blackford every time he stands up in Parliament. Scotland has always  voted centre left with a handful of liberal and Tory seats in the rural areas. We desperately need a labour revival.
