Both leaders are very opposed to it. I think all Class Bs instead of just weed is an interesting approach which could slow down decriminalisation in general. Definitely a positive step

yeah, agreed.

Probably not a vote winner across the country though which is why they won't go near it.

I mean...it's all bollocks...he's just trying to set out a theme and get in the news a bit I guess...but there aren't going to be any actual policies until closer to the next election.

To be fair they have given some policies back at Conference and now he’s set out a broader vision for the country which is what some people were asking for. Take the policy regarding investment into climate change that would then create new jobs and thus give people security etc etc.

The tone was also important. Setting out the party as ones that can look ahead unlike the Tories who aren’t able/willing to do so.

Starmer and Prince Andrew battle it out for who is having the worse day 🙂

Amazingly Boris flying on a Covid high it would seem...

Ha lol. I disagree about you on Starmer. He did fine and most people won't care if he stumbles a bit. A Nonce trying to let his lawyer get other nonces off is clearly worse

New Statesman's Stephen Bush on what Starmer is trying to tell us...

"The British economy produces too many bad jobs, grows at a sluggish pace and is contributing to the destruction of our climate. The levers that a Labour government would pull to fix that would be to much more tightly regulate the labour market, to increase trade union power, and to use the UK’s borrowing capacity to invest in new green infrastructure and research projects."

You can see what they are trying to put together, those measures all sound like they would benefit the country and be a marked improvement from the Tory offering.

The British Economy has always needed more unions...  lmao. That will win over middle England

More union power, not more unions.

Brave new world Baz...we going to hope that we get to net zero using market forces...or we going to invest in the economy to create green jobs with the trade unions having a bigger say because it would mean a radical reform of the labour market?

The last time the unions had more power, it didn't end very well if I recall.

Watching the ITV Drama Anne this evening, so we get to the part where Blair and Straw continued the Establishment cover up of Hillsborough… Not the best look for Starmer when he was bigging  up Blair a couple of hours ago

Wasn't Starmer Director of Public Prosecutions during that period?
