He definitely was right, we’d be in a much better position if Labour had won the 2019 GE.

Doing the magic grandpa routine and telling people they can anything they want is the easiest job in the world. There are two types of politician those that tell us how the world will be if they were in power and those that have actually been in power

That’s the thing about Corbyn. Some of the ideas of what he wanted were the right thing to do. The problem was the other 95% of what he wanted was completely unpalatable and drove voters away in their millions.

Has any other opposition leader damaged the country so much?

nationalise what though? I'm hearing people quote profits from foreign oil fields as "ours" to combat the price rises quoted it would need billions and billions of tax payers money, the profit the actual companies who transport the energy to our houses is nothing when split between the population.

I don't know...like what? Seems like many problems were from his past, meeting various terrorist groups, the pacifism, the republicanism, the scary socialist in a beret thing. I think main problem was that he wasn't really up to it, he was fairly shit at managing the party, and fairly shit at the media inerviews although so is Starmer and so was Milliband. Should have given it to McDonnell, more media savvy, more pragmatic, more ideas.

I also seem to remember an article from before the 2019 election that in anticipation of a Corbyn government, alot of the infrastructure companies set up subsidiaries in Hong Kong and moved ownership of these assets there. The rules on nationalisation are water tight because they were set up by the British before we handed the place back to the communist party. These assets would be tied up in the court system for years without any investment.

Ultimately what we need to do is prevent energy firms putting the prices up so Gordon Brown’s suggesting is in my mind pretty good. I think Starmer might go along this type of line but either way I’m sure the package he’ll announce will be good.

I think there is a missed opportunity to nationalise Bulb. It has been essentially nationalised to the sum of 1.6 billion or so and is run through effectively through Ofgen. Given it buys it's energy on the market through green supplies it would show a commitment to net zero

Sounds like you’ve had a light-bulb moment.

fuckin'ell. Listening to Radio 4 PM programme and they're live from Cheltenham where there's one of these hustings things, and they're talking to some of the tory members attending, and they sound coherent and sane etc, but also like total fucking c**ts imo. These select few are deciding the future direction of this country. So wrong.
