just heard a really sad sentence on radio4, with rape convictions at less than 3% of rape complaints, rape has effectively been decriminalised.

thats shockingly bad.

I'm buggered as I have prepayment meters. People with smarters maybe need to think twice as in theory their supplier could easily disconnect them.

Probably not a coincidence that prices have skyrocketed and will continue to skyrocket now that smart meters are in the majority of homes and that percentage will keep rising.

They know they’ve got everyone by the bollocks.

He may as well quit to be honest...we've got this looming economic crisis coming and we need Bojo out and Truss in and her amazing plans for the economy asap.

Let’s go with a government of national unity, headed up by everyone’s favourite Dominic Raab.

what we need is a riot, while the weather is good, no need saving it till winter.

If they catch you these days they really throw the book at you.  They had some at bridewell who got sentences of several years for hitting a shield or spitting.

can't they arrest you for being a bit noisy now?

Very true, it's shameful.

In light of what @Neil said about the low conviction rates for some dreadful crimes, even if they are convicted the sentence can be quite out of kilter.

To be fair at the moment there is no minimum sentence for rape although the maximum sentence can be life. The courts generally use 4 years as starting point and then consider all the factors involved which may increase or decrease that sentence. The reality is that the general range for rape is between 4 and 19 years. A minimum sentence of 5 years may not seem it but it is actually quite an increase and will increase the average sentence.

Hey if they won't ensure that their bill is fair, then I'm certainly not gonna attempt to be fair about the bill.
