The Dark Side of the Moon is overrated, Animals is the best 70s Floyd album.

Your not the first person I've heard with that opinion, alot of people seem to think Animals or Meddle is the best Floyd album.

Personally I love Dark Side of the Moon and the first few times I hear people say Animals or Meddle was better I excitedly went to listen to them. For my tastes I struggle to comprehend how anyone could prefer either of those albums to DSotM. I wouldn't even rate them as Floyd's 2nd or 3rd best albums

Wish You Were Here is the best Floyd album because it has Wish You Were Here on it, which is the greatest song of all time, ever - this is the hill I chose to die on so don't @  me 😊

Not a bad song on that album, though Shine on You Crazy Diamond is a bit on the long side, love the guitar solo but feels like you wait forever for it. Would say it's my 2nd favourite Floyd album.

My Dad would play it on vinyl very loud, it's engrained in my soul ❤

Huge self-own not to fuck with See Emily Play at the very least.

For the set time they had? No-one wanted to see that.  Would have been a stadium full of very confused people.

Relics, albeit a compilation hence the exclusion, beats many on the list I reckon.

Sorry - was referring to the post beforehand.

Meaning one can dig the Syd years without necessarily subscribing to the Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast period.

Gotcha. As you were.

Although I love the idea of one person at the front of the crowd at Live 8 screaming for the deep cuts 😄

Is it a deep cut? I know more people like things like Shine On You Crazy Diamond, but it's not really an obscurity.

No, but I take the idea to an absurd length to make myself chuckle.

All the Chems chat has pushed me to go and listen to No Geography again. It was up there in my estimations anyway when it came out so this is more of a reminder than a change of heart, but bloody hell it's great.
