Matt42
Why has Paolo been so low key for years? Not released any music since 2014 and very rarely plays gigs. How does he afford his bills?

Paid just over half a million for a 6 bed mansion and, pays about £4 a pint in his local and £25 every couple of days for a bag from his weed guy - he’s chilling. I do miss him, cracking live show. Hope he comes back full time soon.

Somto Unigwe Raphael
This forum is obsessed with predicting Paolo Nutini to return in a big slot every year. No ones cares about Paolo Nutini it’s 2022.

No ones cares about Paolo Nutini it’s 2022. Don’t think anyone’s expecting him to sub Kendrick, but there are plenty of gaps ready to be filled by someone who could realistically resume playing arenas if he pulled out a successful comeback single. If peaking in popularity years ago meant ‘current’ acts couldn’t be booked then Elbow, Lorde and Years & Years would be nowhere near the farm, among others. Tbh the biggest obstacle to him playing the big one this year is the lack of news on a new album. Most of the ‘returning’ pop acts doing the rounds this summer have announced their albums by this point, but it’s still all quiet on the P-Nut front. If he leaves it too much longer he’ll probably just end up playing next year and using this summer’s shows as a chance to get his name out there again, even with that incredibly convenient Bristol date. No ones cares about Paolo Nutini it’s 2022. Nutini's debut album, These Streets (2006), peaked at number three on the UK Albums Chart. Its follow-up, Sunny Side Up (2009), debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. Both albums have been certified quintuple platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. Five years later, Nutini released his third studio album, Caustic Love, in April 2014. The album received positive reviews from music critics. Caustic Love debuted at number one on the UK Album Charts and was certified platinum by the BPI in June 2014. If he's got new music coming between now and summer which seems fairly likely there's no way he's not getting a decent slot.

Gnomicide
That latest Paolo show looks promising. No other dates for a couple of weeks afterwards. I know those Bristol shows are not necessarily a predictor but it does look like a warm up show.

Well 50% of the acts playing are already confirmed as being at the festival so wouldn't be too much of a jump to think Paolo woll be there too. Perhaps one to be considered for a surprise slot? He's probably got a good relationship with the festival. I remember seeing him at a Pilton Party many moons ago.

ClementsMike
Elbow playing Bristol Sounds on June 24th, ruining the theory that there is no crossover between there and Glastonbury.

Has that ever been a theory? Noel and First Aid Kit were already playing both. Three acts playing Glastonbury (Elbow, Noel, First Aid Kit) and three not (Paolo Nutini, The War on Drugs, Jungle) seems about the same as previous years. The truism is that playing those Bristol gigs isn't a guarantee that an act will be at Glastonbury.

All 3 can't be completely ruled out as being added to the lineup given they aren't playing elsewhere over the festival.

That's true, though I don't think there's much room for anyone that big to be added to the lineup and I think we're more likely to get Paolo Nutini next year as part of a bigger tour. chazwwe
No idea on the size of Steroyphonics now but I think they would smash a 3rd Pyramid/Sub Other slot but there's too many others already around.
