A few good ones due out this Friday to keep an eye on...

Black Honey - Written & Directed

Arlo Parks - Collapsed in Sunbeams

Steven Wilson - The Future Bites

Albertine Sarges - Sticky fingers

Very much looking forward to Arlo Parks and Black Honey, although pretty sure Black Honeys has been delayed until 19 March. Decent first month of 2021 either way

New Logic1000 EP that came out last week goes harder than the new Bicep imo. Isles had great tracks but was a bit patchy compared to their debut

Yeah I’ve been listening all week and it doesn’t really hook me that much. Can’t deny that it will be their biggest commercial success yet - but I feel like by the end of the year I’m going to forget this album came out.

My Arlo Parks vinyl has turned up a day early! Probably still won't get to listen to it until tomorrow as we are watching the end of It's a Sin tonight but I have it for tomorrow!!

Excited to listen to that!

Also have the same plan for tonight. It’s going to be emotional.

It’s only 7.30am and my day is already shook, because against all odds, the new Weezer album doesn’t suck.

The lyrics are still pretty mediocre to worse on the whole, but the tunes themselves are largely pretty great and completely devoid of any attempt to be dOwN wItH tHe KiDs as is often Weezer’s downfall, so it’s a thumbs up from me.

Eagerly await Van Weezer to counter any temporary goodwill I have this year towards them.

I haven't got to it yet coz I'm not an early morning maniac like you but I'm surprised how much I've listened to the single, found myself singing it around the gaff enough to keep going back to listen to it. It's in my head right now. So I'm looking forward to the album. VW seemed stupid when they announced it and I wasn't looking forward to it but the fact I've waited so long to dislike it has me desperate to listen to it and I'm prety excited about it now so they've played this out well in the end ahah.

What's the new Weezer album called? Don't worry I googled and found it. It's OK human if anyone else is struggling to find it.

Currently creating my playlist of albums and listening to Arlo Parks for the second time. It is a bit lovely. Never even heard of him but got a mailer from Rough Trade this morning about new releaes and Dead Sheeran was on it. The name alone made me think it was worthy of a listen. Also a Martin Gore EP today has been added to the list. Unfortunately for me Friday is annoyingly my busiest calls day at work but will update with the ones I like once I have had a good listen.

I'm still in shock it was available at the time they said it would be! Quite nice not to hear songs about shopping and partying that would fit in the middle of a terrible teen movie! On first listen not bad. Still got a bit of hope that Van Weezer is going to be the full on rock masterpiece that was promised 😬

Bersnard Lakes and Steve Wilson albums are very good

Steve Wilson album is my favourite of the morning so far. Can’t say I’ve kept up with much of his solo stuff after being a somewhat fan of Porcupine Tree, but the over the top 80’s vibe of a lot of this is really doing it for me. Personal Shopper is such a ridiculous banger.
