Yeah. Another year. Let's do it.

Whose music will distract us from our respective realities in the year 2021? We will find out now.

Here are some handy album release calendars: Metacritic, Albumoftheyear, Genius

Last years intro post of yours was great - oh how differently 2020 turned out.

Will Frank Ocean release a decade-defining new album which is essentially an audio capture of him building a cuckoo clock?

Will Grimes release an album which flops on Earth but is a hit in other galaxies?

Will Royal Blood come back from the desert having found ‘the new sound’?

Will Weezer totally embarrass themselves when we all thought they had no shame left?

All to be revealed and more in... the 2020 New Music thread!”

New one from Bicep late Jan, which I’ve high hopes for after all the singles released this year have been shit hot.

Other than that LDR, Killers, St Vincent, Denzel Curry are all on the eagerly awaiting list.

Hopeful of new Arcade Fire, The National and Kendrick too.

Looking forward to the new St Vincent. Am very out of touch with new releases though.

One thing I'm gonna try next year is actually listening to music when it comes out, rather than leaving it for ages and further adding to the backlog. Like I still haven't listened to Fetch the Bolt Cutters yet, nor even Ghosteen from last year

I didn't bother with the intro for this one after not even getting 'Weezer embarrassing themselves' correct.

you were right about Grimes tho. i wouldn't go as far as flopped, but Anthony Fantano on Earth gave it a 4/10, yet Zorg of Andromeda gave it a Ӂ/֍

I'm hoping for new albums from Arcade Fire, Daughter, Queens of the Stone Age, Lorde, The War on Drugs, Florence and the Machine, Phoenix, Young Fathers and Father John Misty this year. It should be a pretty strong year for me if most of those acts do release albums along with the already announced ones @dentalplanlisted.

If all these drop, as well as my aforementioned picks, it’ll be “the best year yet”.

There will be a new Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes album at some point this year. They've recorded the tracks already, they're just in the process of putting it together.

Kid Kapichi's debut full length album is out the 5th February, looking forward to hearing that.

Architects on 26th February too. I think Goat Girl are due the end of January, and for all the derision it will get the Foo Fighters new album in out the start of February. It'll be interesting to see what Shame do with their new release as they've kind of taken a step back and Fontaines DC have stepped up.

The first couple of months of 2021 are pretty stacked.

Didn't Arcade Fire say they were nearly complete on their new record a while back, or did I imagine that?

As for The War On Drugs, really hopeful we'll get that toward the end of next year. Sounds like it's well on the way...

The new Hold Steady album I am really keen for, and hoping that The Mysterines will release their debut album in 2020 too.

Two or three albums written in lockdown apparently, hopefully they follow the trend of multiple releases in a calendar year and give us a whole load of new music.
