foolee
Albums of the year (However 2 are EPs but they deserve to be in there) Bring Me The Horizon - Post Human:Survival Horror Spanish Love Songs - Brave Faces Everyone Machine Gun Kelly - Tickets To My Downfall Tame Impala - The Slow Rush Blossoms - Foolish Loving Spaces Idles - Ultra Mono Sports Team - Deep Down Happy Fever 333 - Wrong Generation The Big Moon - Walking Like We Do Soccer Mommy - Color Theory Its been very tough this year and I could have easily tried to squeeze in Haim, Fontaines DC, Enter Shikari, Mystery Jets, Anti-Flag and possible Yungblud but that only came out yesterday so it needs a few more listens. So many good albums out this year.
Brownie30
Albums: Taylor Swift - folklore Phoebe Bridgers - Punisher Run The Jewels - RTJ4 Biffy Clyro - A Celebration of Endings Halsey - Manic Ela Minus - acts of rebellion Sault - Untitled (Rise) Charli XCX - How I'm Feeling Now Samia - The Baby The 1975 - Notes on a Conditional Form Songs: London Grammar - Baby It's You Biffy Clyro - Cop Syrup Taylor Swift - august Phoebe Bridgers - I Know The End Run The Jewels - out of sight (feat. 2 Chainz) Kllo - Still Here Grimes - Delete Forever Sault - Son Shine Miley Cyrus - Midnight Sky Lianne La Havas - Weird Fishes (Honourable mentions: The Weeknd - Blinding Lights, Amanda Tenjford - Pressure, Waxahatchee - Fire, The Japanese House ft. Justin Vernon - Dionne, Gatlin - I Think About You All The Time and Baby Queen - Internet Religion) Quite tough to narrow both of these down to 10 actually. It's been a good year for it, and I've enjoyed discovering a lot of new bands / artists whose work I absolutely love. Particular mentions go to Ela Minus, Samia, Kllo, Amanda Tenjford, Dagny, Katie Pruitt, Gatlin, TEME and Baby Queen - all I hope come back bigger and better in 2021 (Ela Minus' album is a must listen imo). Excited for what 2021 could have in store - hopefully with a Top 10 Gigs addition too. Edited December 5, 2020 by Brownie30
Hutchmaster
ALBUMS OF THE YEAR Phoebe Bridgers - Punisher Laura Marling - Song for Our Daughter Grimes - Miss.Anthropocene Kelly Lee Owens - Inner Song The Strokes - The New Abnormal Hinds - The Prettiest Curse Haim - Women in Music pt III Porridge Radio - Every Bad Roísín Murphy - Roísín Machine Taylor Swift - Folklore TRACKS OF THE YEAR Phoebe Bridgers - Graceland Too Grimes - Delete Forever Arab Strap - The Turning of Our Bones Laura Marling - Song for Our Daughter Phoebe Bridgers - I Know The End Taylor Swift - Cardigan Kelly Lee Owens - Jeanette Roísín Murphy - Something More Nathan Micay - Industry Marika Hackman/Let's Eat Grandma - blow (Rosa Let's Eat Grandma Rework) Have to say, the tracks were A LOT harder than the albums. My album list is extremely lopsided as well; 1-3 I've listened to in full fairly regularly throughout the year, whereas the rest I like but go back a lot more sporadically. Need to go back to that Mystery Jets album, liked it a lot at the time but not had it in much recently.
Quark
I'm really surprised by how often the Mystery Jets album is cropping up on these lists. Not because it's not a good album, but I just don't remember it getting much (any?) love or attention on here when it came out. Seems to have been a real dark horse. Something early Metallica esque but not limited to that, I can dip into the classics if nothing springs to mind for anyone, thought I might as well use the hive mind of efests.
