Nixon, Clinton, Bush...

They all seem like role model leaders in comparison to him though. It's not a surprise during his time in office he has always been critical of any reasonable and democratically elected leader and expressed his admiration for dictators. The frustrating thing is how little of a surprise it is.

I am curious to see if Trump's ban on Twitter & Facebook will piss off his supporters in doing something else. There's already complaints that their/Trumps freedom of speech is already being taken away when there was just disclaimers and freedom of speech is one of those buzzy phrases that get folk riled up.

All the hardcore trumptards have already moved on to their own right wing friendly social media site. The FBI will already have that well infiltrated.

This will just mean a end to the casual trumptard who will hopefully forget about his antics soon and not get radicalised.

The ineffectualness of the police force here is shocking.

The disparity between this and their treatment of BLM protesters is one thing, but regardless, this is indefensibly poor work.

They were ridiculously outnumbered. Don't think the officers could have done much in that situation, but seems extremely poorly planned. 4 or 5 officers and one fence is really all that defends their parliament? 😮

Although it's a much smaller scale, the Milo Yianopollis stuff shows that de-platforming does work

Not normally but the usual security and back up force were stood down on Trumps orders. You just have to see the level of security Trump ordered for the BLM protests to see what should have really been there yesterday.

Being ineffectual and being totally overwhelmed in numerical terms are totally different things. They had no chance.

god I forgot about him, what a knob. I don't even know who the big hitters are any more, the Milo/PJW/Hopkins/Alex Jones days seem to be over. Are they all just bouncing off the Parler walls now?

Have you actually seen how nuts Parler is? It’s literally a QAnon black hole

I’ve no intention of having a look in there but if an average person like me knows about it then you know the intelligence services are going to be well entrenched in there monitoring the people and conversations.

I really thought all these objectors would hold up proceedings a bit longer.

It’s so so sweet that Trump is currently banned from Twitter so has to wait until later for his whiney response/rejection of it all.

The only reason they didnt take longer was because a bunch of terrorists came in and disrupted their disruption. Mitch then had all day to talk em down and thats why only Pennsylvania had one other than Arizona.

@parlertakes on Twitter is a pretty good look at the madness that happens there without actually having to sign up to it. Funnily enough, you need photo I.D. to sign up and a lot of the plotting of the senate takeover was done there, so the FBI must be having a field day.

This is one example of the ramped up security thats possible when authorized. They were guarding a statue and were all essentially mercenaries because they bore no military designation or rank. It was planned all along to have such low security. They hopefully investigate as to why there was a lack of it when there was 100,000 people not too far from the building and knew there were likely plans to try and take over the building.

Hadn't thought of it that way.

They lost the election(s)

Lost all but one of the legal challenges

And then they actually sped up the process to confirm the results

They really are fucking useless at this aren't they?

Yep. You shouldve seen the faces on the news correspondents having to watch a glorified version of CSpan and just rolling their eyes wondering why the hell does it take so long to count votes lol.

Correct. But you can't apportion blame to the individuals who were trying to cope with that yesterday. If there was any collusion or direction, it was coming from way above them.
