It's going to be a great show.

Investigations into tampering in the Ukraine, dodgy donations, inciting rent-a-mob, and Trumps refusal of an amnesty - opens the door for the FBI/investigators to offer Rudy a 'tell-all' deal he can't refuse.

Popcorn at the ready....can't wait for this installment!

My money that (more generally) the big thing they will go after Trump for will be money laundering for the Russians. Just depends how deep the corruption goes I guess, otherwise they surely would have done it years ago. (Trump mysteriously seems to have done a deal at least 30 years ago that means he doesn't have tom pay any tax, for some reason.)

Trump may know too much. If he does go to Russia I’d advise him not go near windows in high buildings.

Isn’t it the case though that Trump fired the director of the FBI, and (along with senate) appointed the replacement? Or am I being paranoid and seeing conspiracies where there are none?

When you consider what happened to Robert Maxwell, you are probably correct. It was Maxwell who actually largely got this whole ball rolling, He was an agent for Mossad (at least) and was involved in people trafficking, gun running and money laundering. Anyway, he got all the Russian oligarchs Israeli passports, allowing them to extend their operations internationally, and here we are. So it's likely that the whole Epstein web was set up as a mass kompromat operation.

People seem to assume that Epstein ran the show and Gishlaine was merely his girlfriend, though it would more likely be the other way around, being that she has that background and he seemed to come from nowhere (though he did work with Bill Barr's dad, who wrote a sci-fi book about child sex slavery). It seems plausible that when they learnt of Epstein's 'predilections', he was a useful idiot recruited to do the recruiting.

(The first para is what I've read; the second is my speculation.)

Yeah, one of his core flaws is not being able to work with others so there's been constant comings and goings everywhere. Almost all of his appointments have been have gone, he's on his 4th head of CIA, 3rd head of FBI etc.

Not joking, one of the FBI guys who left talked about how they had to plan their meetings with him to include pictures in the reports as his attention would wane otherwise.

I would put money on Melania being a Russian plant, sourced by Maxwell to get close to Trump.

The UK Royals are definitely connected via Prince Andrew as well, I also think Cummings also has a supporting role.

It’s a shame we won’t find out the truth for at least 50 years, all the files on this scandal will be locked till then.

I once read (online this time) a very amusing theory that Melania had been plasticed together to make her irresistible to Trump by sculping her together to look just like his daughter (though that was tongue in cheek... I think).

Trump's first wife Ivana's Czech dad also used to report back on him to the KGB. Those two also had some weird pre-nup that obliged them to have three children (I've read that in numerous places; don't know if I'm being thick, but I don't really get why that would be!).

I think Farage is a minor player here as well - he was a courier for the leaked Russian hack to Assange. Both essentially have interfered with the 2016 US election.

maybe it's cos Rudy didn't deliver on the promises of success he'd made to Trump?

I think it's also because Trump has a history of not paying his suppliers. One of my US associates had the 'pleasure' of working with the Donald back in the late 80s, when their company installed a telecoms system in his Taj Mahal casino. They had to take the Donald to court to get him to cough up. Said he behaved just like an NYC mob boss (maybe, cos that's exactly what he is).

Russia may have been the big loser in the cold war but they are definitely in control of the internet war.

Agreed. Our problem as a country (and the US too) is that we just don't take it seriously.

The recent US hack by Russia should have been considered an act of war, but Trump's silence notwithstanding, the entire government did very little to even acknowledge it.

I suspect it's a matter of time before the UK suffers a similar attack.

If you can control social media you can control a countries population. Brexit is a prime example of what you can do to undermine a nation.

Everyone talks about Qanon and other internet conspiracy groups, they are a nice cover for the people who are actually pulling the strings.

You say that, they try, but Russia, despite their best intentions are not "in control" of the internet. No-one is "in control" of the internet. Locally perhaps, though invariably ineffectively, in Russia and any number of countries there is ineffective local control, but nobody is overlord over the web.

Many fall into the pit by their own volition, that is another mater. Many subscribe to services that plough their very soul for money. But no. No one is in control, for now.

If trump had half a brain he could buy a domain name fore a few dollars - trumptweets.com , and splurge out anything he desires all day like he did before and no one could stop him.

The fact that Trump is to stupid to see that and that we who do see that see that the internet, despite all the bullshit, is, in the end, a very good thing, reaffirms my faith in all this. Freedom of speech and freedom to lie. Always the opportunity to call out the lies. Everyone has a voice. Freedom to ban Trump. Freedom for him to find another platform.

Be ever suspicious, and don't believe everything you read and see on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram or here or anywhere.

Take great solace in your suspicion of everything you read. Be grateful you can still read it. Places like this will survive.

Everything we say here, from the drunken bullshit to poignant insight, all, recorded forever. Free.

What's next on the slate anyway? I just head that the next big insurrection days are the 17th (presumably after church) and the 20th?

I've heard the 17th as well. That was when the inauguration rehearsal was supposed to be taking place and they've moved that now, presumably on account of intelligence. I also heard 19th mentioned, and of course the day itself.

I was wondering what impact Trump's call against violence would make. I've already seen plenty of support for the theory that it was a deepfake video, that he's been infiltrated and flipped by the deep state, that he's making statements under duress, and that there was clues within the video that he didn't mean it and was encouraging further protest using coded messages.

What, like his demeanour and general attitude...?
