Can we visit the farm at the moment?

Recommended Posts

No. We walked the public roads and lanes near the farm last week but didn’t venture anywhere onto the site. As it should be in these current times. The signage is clear.

This is the site from the road

I love that they still haven't taken down the Arcadia crane.

Have they appealed the planning decision to remove it?

Yes, it’s really strange standing on that spot gazing across the green fields, the silence only broken by bird song and the distant rumble of a tractor.  You shut your eyes and think of what it’s like during the festival, the vast ocean of multi coloured tents, the noise, the smells and sheer happiness it brings.

They appealed it but it was refused again, despite it being an application for temporary permission until August 2023 and Pilton Parish Council recommending it for approval.  IMO it doesn't even stand out that much from outside the site, as shown in @Ayrshire Chris's photo.

You must have been to the site (or close to it) a few times since the festival was last on, or is my memory playing tricks on me?

Had a couple of holidays down in the Somerset countryside plus the Pilton party since the last festival! Just love the area.

Much more confident of PP next  year ... :)

And if there are any spare tickets for us foreigners left after the local sale we will be there as well! I feel like an honorary Somerset resident anyway. I’d even drink cider👍😁

Hi everyone, popped in to Efests after some time away and happened upon this rather timely thread. I’m hopefully off to Glastonbury this Sunday for a couple of days and wanted to visit the site.
I understand that’s not allowed which makes sense. However some public paths were mentioned earlier in the thread. Could anyone give me a clue as to which road we should aim for and where we might be able to pull over for 30 mins just to take it all in?

I don’t want to break any rules or piss anyone off, just a little glimpse would cheer my soul! Breathe in that pilton air!

thanks folks

I know a good view of the site can be from pilton skatepark ? @Ayrshire Chris has been nearby lately and can give more details of the route he’s taken ... and of course @deebeedoobee ...

We were down a few weeks ago as you can see from photos Ive posted. We just walked along Pyle road past Mary’s gate then down Cockmill lane . This skirts round the perimeter of the site and you can get views through gaps in hedge etc. From the skate park you can see the pyramid. Also if you feel like a rest and some peace there’s seats in the skate park. This means you don’t go against the wishes of the festival team. Google maps give locations where festival areas are.   Warning! you will have a mixture of emotions, happy to see the  site but sad to think what we’ve missed this year!

I think the only actual public footpath is in the west of the site and skirts the western camping grounds ending up near gate A.
