I’m heading down to Glastonbury camping this weekend. Really looking forward to it as I’ve never been to the town nor been up to the Tor. Any idea if things to do when it’s raining would be appreciated....don’t mind getting too wet

Any recommendations for something nice to eat? Would probably prefer a pub so that I can spend the evening....it’s looking wet on Thursday 😳

Quite a few decent pubs and locals on here would probably give the best advice.  We’ve eaten and drank in the riflemans, the who’d a thought it, the King Arthur and the pilgrim. All nice and just usual pub food. A few specialist cafes as well but closed by evening .  Google Glastonbury pubs for menus, recommendations etc. And Knights fish and chips are the dogs bollocks! Really nice especially after a few bevvies!

And of course a trip to Pilton for the Crown or the Crossways at North Wootton where we stayed.

Add Hawthorns for a good pub with great curry.  Rainbow's End for daytime great Veggie food and cake. Burns the Bread for cakes and stuff to take up the Tor with you.

Kudos to those of you who are ahead of me on the Glastonbury site situ, I have already said once that I wasn't. As that apparently isn't enough, I heard the call not to go to the site, but I thought that was issued at/applied to the weekend of the festival (as in people making pilgrimages).

Despite the claims that is common knowledge, I announced my intention to walk the site about a week before I did it on the good news thread and no-one batted an eyelid - so maybe not as widely known after all? Also, I wouldn't have so brazenly announced my misdemeanour in this thread if I realised I'd broken the rules.

In true karma style, I can happily announce that in true Glastonbury fashion, it absolutely pissed it down and we got soaked through. I have no intentions to visit the site again in the near future and will double-check the situ if I do.

I wouldn't worry about it, it's not as if you would have spread it to them even if you were dripping with coronaviruses.

Well it takes the piss doesn’t it .. do voluntary work for a cause and get a load of shit for it... like I said I’m done this group is just full of nasty people

the gif was showing that you are digging a hole for yourself .... I try to be objective and fair but you really aren't helping  yourself on this thread .... I haven't seen anyone giving you shit .... asking questions and follow ups yes ...  but thats how this site works .... just  take a step back if you can and read the posts back slowly .... ive been on here for quite a few years and respect will earn respect ... and from that will come friends too ....  we all have that same common love of a festival in a field dont we ...

I’m not sure what is going here with sdsm123 What worries me is what sdsm123 is quoting!! And how is gives a wrong impression of the festival ethos and the security ethos!!!
I find it strange sdsm123 works for the festival at a strategic level but did not know how to contact festival medical!!!
Also the way describing security is not how we work we don’t sleep on the job!!! I’m registered with several security company’s locally which is 30mins from the site!! None have made any contact about jobs at the site!!!
I volunteer directly for the festival and the way its coming across is not how they do things!! I also know someone who lives and works on site!!!
I don’t know what experience sdsm123 have but in your future career as a paramedic I will offer advice you are going to come across people who are going to question you disagree with and probably piss you off, you have to leave it and not get personal back or it will destroy you!!!
And yes I have 25yrs experience of working in difficult situations which are confrontational! I’m SIA trained and work along side security police Festival staff etc!!! They are the best teams to work in cause we have each other’s back as there is no I in team!!!

As I said before you need to be able to be to manage being questioned by everybody in the future without it becoming personal!!
The team your part of is part of your success!!! Without my team I’m nothing wether I’m in my full time job or my part time work! And they would say the same!!!
none of this is political as many on here will tell you I don’t really have a clue about any of that!!
I just don’t think you are doing yourself any favours for the future  In the way your communicating at the moment!!

I'm not trying to stir the pot up anymore, I genuinely want to know after all this today. Has there been security on the site for the last 3 months to ensure people don't head onto the site like our naughty boy Homer did?
