eFestivals
Liverpool vs Leeds is a cracking match. 30 minutes in, it's 2-2, plus a disallowed goal each too.

squirrelarmy
The lads did well. Liverpool needed the penalty spot to beat us. Bring on the rest of the season.
jyoung
Liverpool will need to tighten up their back line, that's for sure.
Dan R
Liverpool looked really sloppy but that's to be expected with such a short pre-season. Definitely need to sharpen up fast though. Leeds look a real good team, think they'll be great fun to watch this season.

I think we've had this discussion before, but growing up local to this and playing Tongham twice a year for about a decade... no surprise. 14 hours ago, st dan said: Who will be the first manager to go this season then - Jose or Moyes? Tough to call. Spurs were rubbish yesterday, but their squad has regressed significantly in the last 18 months. Jose will last at least a season whilst Levy gets heat I reckon. Moyes looks doomed. lost
Only one game but James Rodriguez didn't look like he's only at Everton for a final pay day yesterday. Also one moment at the end summed up Evertons midfield last year vs this. Sigurdsson was trying to shadow one of the Spurs players into a more difficult position and then Allan rushed past him and tackled the player winning the ball. We were fantastic yesterday - very pleased with the new signings, they fit in perfectly and are exactly what we need. Can't believe how good Rodriguez was for that first half when he hasn't played much for ages - when his fitness is up he's got something special in him. If Richarlison finds his shooting boots again and Rodriguez keeps making him chances like that he should get loads this season. Getting over that mental hurdle of winning away at a top 6 team will really help with the inferiority complex (first since 2013 at Old Trafford which is mad - that feels like a lifetime ago both personally and Everton-wise). jyoung
MOTM Reece James had a great game last night. Can't help but think when Chilwell and Thiago Silva are fit we will be much stronger at the back. If Chilwell is a starter it looks like it will be Azpi vs Reece for the RB spot. If he carries on like that he'll see plenty of game time. Kepa still looked shaky. Werner was rapid and hopefully Havertz can get a bit more into the game that the weekend and announce his arrival against an elite team. Just when the narrative of the match seemed to be Lamptey's redemption he comes out with that. Saying that though Lamptey was probably my MOTM overall. England just keep producing quality RBs I reckon if Chelsea got a new keeper they could realistically be challenging City and Liverpool. New keeper should mean 10-15 less goals conceded and the new attackers theoretically should put up much better numbers than the others. Obviously doesn't always work out that way though.
