An e-festival's Northern Soul thread? I am all over this. I am yet to find a purely Northern Soul set at Glastonbury which is anywhere near as busy as it deserves to be.

Williams Green was rammed on the Thursday during the Deptford Northern Soul Clubs set last year.

It certainly was and about 150 degrees with a great atmosphere too. We were right at the front when this classic banger came on....

Not strictly Northern Soul (so might get chased out of here with pitchforks and flaming torches) but if you like some of this stuff being buggered about with, sampled and mixed has anyone tried giving The Allergies a spin?  Use a lot of NS samples in their tracks, can be a bit hit and miss but they're really good when they nail it.

Full Glastonbury Festival (official) line up is out with set times! Thursday we play 15:15-16:15 on the Williams Green afterthe screening of 'Amazing Grace' (Aretha Franklin film), Thurs night we plat a secret show (details TBA), Friday night 3:00 (AM) - 4:30 on Delux Diner in the SE corner, Saturday we take over Williams Green from 23:30 - 3:00 bringing two of our favourite soul djs with us from London Ned Stax and Scarlett May O'Malley & finally we wrap up the weekend 1:00 (AM) - 2:15 Sunday night at the Meat Rack (NYC Downlow)!

Aah unfortunately by the time I made it to the Saturday night one it was really quiet

Ha ha, erm tough to say, I left the Park after Hot Chip, I think I went to Arcadia for.a bit and then headed that way.  I'd say 1... but it may have been closer to 2 (they were on till 3)? May have just been poor timing

@marathonsteve lots of Wigan Casino vids there mate. The dancing was another level...!! My old fella used to go there week in week out in the early 70’s. He told me that after the all nighters him and his mates used to go to Wigan baths to go for a swim, ha ha ha. No doubt still full of energy after the “Purple Hearts” assistance😃.

I'd intended to give Northern Soul some time for a while and this thread has prompted me to get on with it. There's some playlists on Spotify that sound great, but can anyone recommend some albums to me?
