Yes, Glastonbury was first but I think we all agree that they are a different animal.

I was thinking more along the lines that a lot of European fests are linked, with the same bands playing on many of them. Once one or two festivals drop out then the festival tour circuit becomes less and less viable.

Imagine not being in a position to cancel until a little over 50 days before an event of this size and magnitude is due to start? I assume their ability to communicate was due to a lack of direction from the Danish government? Roskilde is a cultural institution, probably as important to Denmark as Glastonbury is to the UK. My heart goes out to some of these festival organisations, they've really been thrown under the bus by the authorities

Anyone know any inside knowledge about Camp Bestival? Seems to be plowing on?

I would have thought they would be one of the more cautious ones, what with the main fest sort of going bankrupt a few years ago!

It’s just today been confirmed that the creditors including bands, ticketmaster and Dorset police will get nothing!

Yeah, but these days it's yet another Live Nation property - so the risk analysis is probably not much different than Latitude or IOW.

Is it? I thought it was owned by the Benamore loan company guy?

Vaccination mandatory for large scale events from September onwards.

Interested what this means for the healing fields at Glastonbury… and what this means for children / young adults hoping to go to the festival.

Don't see a problem given its a year away.

Looking likely that this will be introduced at least in the immediate term.

My view is that vaccine passports are probably not for the long term but just for the short term where we don’t have herd immunity for COVID. I can’t see us being in a situation where they won’t still be in place summer 2022. It’s not that far away.
