Pukkelpop 2021

Unlike the lineups for 2022, this year we pretty much know what bands are willing and available to play in that time window.

Pukkelpop most likely will share names with Reading and Lowlands... Liam, BMTH, Stormzy, Denzel Curry etc... not bad names and considering the dry summer we're having, it'll be а great event for most (me included). Even if Combi tickets sold out, I'm willing to buy day tickets and fly to Belgium for that. I managed to get tickets for Reading, but I'm still cautious as UK prolonged the restrictions. Even if they lift them I could have to quarantine + pay hundreds of pounds for PCRs.

If Pukkelpop happens to be the my only festival experience - I'll take it even if I frankenstein the Combi with day tickets or try the second market and pay more.

(I'm tired of getting excited for events 12 months away...)

To be honest. I'd settle for a weekend away and a day ticket to whichever day the Chems are on, assuming they are. Still confident of getting a combi by hook or by crook. Todays UK news on possibly relaxing the Amber list countries for people who've had both vaccines is promising.

i think it makes it even more unlikely for this to take place.

The article said the festival can't take place because the city didn't allow it on the new dates. So no impact on Pukkelpop. Or juste maybe a bit on tickets sales (even if both festivals are really different). I hope we gonna have some names before it's soldout...

Wouldn't worry about it. TML is not getting a permit from the mayor of the town where it takes place. Something to do with local politics and people pro/con mass events in their countryside town.

In other sad news, people from 27 countries with high virus circulation banned from traveling to Belgium this summer. Including UK.

This list has to be confirmed in 3 weeks. Hopefully, UK will be removed from this list before... I hope so.

I can't imagine any Govt in the EU is going to make a call now regarding who they will and won't let in that will stay in place for the rest of the summer. Granted, us Brits can be shitty guests at the best of times but we love to travel and spend money so most countries are willing to ignore the negatives and tolerate our presence. I can't see them looking this gift horse in the mouth for another year, plus our vaccination programme is up there with the best so most people who want to travel to PKP will have had both jabs by the time the doors burst open.

The more pressing issue for me though is whether there will be any tickets left by the time we're allowed to buy them? PKP is now pretty much the only decent sized festival taking place this summer in Belgium so demand is understandably staggeringly high. Only thing I'm struggling to work out though is that they sold 70% of combi's in about 6 hours but here we are 4 days later and there's still tickets available?!?

Pukkelpop and Lowlands are the only decent sized festivals taking place in Europe. There will be a huge demand for the remaining tickets once the presale for belgian people will be over.

The point is that I think the remaining tickets will dissapear quickly once the line-up will be announced if bands like Gorillaz, Editors, QOSTA or Chemical Brothers are topping the bill.

I think 100% of the tickets will be bought from Belgium. I hope I am wrong.

Looking at comments and stories there's been a big rush during the first hour of selling and I'm expecting the same once the lineup will be announced. I fear the remaining tickets will be sold in minutes.

Honestly, I think the festival will be soldout before June 30th. Only way to avoid it: don't announce any names until then. But it doesn't seem - hopefully - the plan. With Rock Wercher potential announcement tomorrow and tickets on sale on Wednesday, I guess we won't have any name before at least 24 June.

Based on French newspapers, Belgium won't close borders with UK and 26 other countries. They won't allow non-EU people to come from UK. This is already the case for Brazilians, Indians, etc. So if some American bands plays in UK before Pukkelpop, per example, they'll be able to come in Belgium. Same for British bands of course.
