The Other Steve
It's my birthday in a couple of weeks so I'm on the lookout for some new vinyl so just for a bit of fun and to help me with some ideas during lockdown... If you could only purchase 1 vinyl album from each decade which would you choose? Looking for 1 album of choice on vinyl from 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's, 10's & 20's (if possible). maelzoid
50s - Kind of Blue - Miles Davis 60s - Electric Ladyland - Jimi Hendrix Experience 70s - The Wild, The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle - Bruce Springsteen 80s - The Joshua Tree - U2 90s - Grace - Jeff Buckley 00s - Lateralus - Tool* 10s - Hand. Cannot. Erase. - Steven Wilson * the widely available version of this is a picture disc. I don't like picture discs, but this one sounds pretty decent, but I'd much rather have a pressing on top grade black vinyl. SwedgeAntilles
In the spirit of making about recommendations I've subbed out a couple of my first choice (namely Abbey Road and The Stones Roses) to avoid clashing with @Hugh Jass. I've also gone for the bed spread background, rather than the rug, as my floor is manky and covered in dog hair.

CaledonianGonzo
Though that is the Abbey Road Half Speed master of Exile, which one shouldn't touch with a fucking bargepole.
Buddy Holly
These are my top picks from my vinyl collection, although I think Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness would take that 90s spot if I owned it (I'm not yet brave enough to spend £100 on a single record!). 20s - Suddenly - Caribou 1

jparx
Went for stuff I own, so not strictly my favourites from each decade. Although tbf it's very close - I'd probably have Chems in there instead of MBV and that's near enough it.
