What were you doing and roughly what geographical area? Best to post out you are job hunting on here, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. I see lots of people getting jobs this was through friends of friends!

Obviously been a bit busy looking for other jobs so not spent a huge amount of time on here. Based in London as an AWS specialist. Good news is I've got an interview tomorrow, never had pressure to find another job like this before as I haven't been 'unemployed' since I left school

Appreciate the feedback from others too!

Hope you're feeling better today @Wellyboot

This week is already feeling like the longest ever. Can't wait for it to be over.

Ain't that the truth!! Got to say I am finding this month a real struggle. I keep on repeating it'll get better at the end of the month etc etc but it's all feeling a little bit endless at the moment. My reading is keeping me going at the moment. Already on my 5th book of the year.

Yeah, I'm struggling with the "nothing to look forward to" thing. I've booked in some leave for prospective breaks that could potentially involve me seeing my family, but I can't even look forward to them because I know I'm just going to be disappointed when the restrictions don't allow for it.

That's excellent going on the reading! I am still struggling on my first - at first I thought I just wasn't getting on with e-reading on my Fire tablet, but I think I've realised now that it's just not a very good book 😂 hoping to have finished it by the weekend and then I'm going to dive into one I've really been looking forward to.

That's an amazing effort! I've now got you down to get through 120 in 2021!

I had this issue last week. I tried to stick with it for too long, then just gave in and indulged in buying myself some fairly light reads. Did the trick!

No way I'll keep up that pace. I had a couple of easy reads in that because I felt I needed it. Reading a modern classic Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier at the moment so that will slow my pace down.

Yes I think that's part of it last year our first holiday was cancelled literally the week of Lockdown part 1 I rescheduled it for April this year being cautious but got to be honest I was fairly convinced that we'd be totally back to normal but the idea of it still being cancelled is depressing. I've almost come to terms with never seeing my brother again. At the stage where gigs I had booked are being cancelled for the third time and it's just getting harder and harder to be upbeat about it especially when work is still shit and it's just all the fun stuff that normally helps you cope that is cancelled.

I've been in bad by 9and awake panicking by 6and so it goes again... Sleepy, lathargic etc.. Doesn't help that my pain is going crazy and I've had tinnitus for 6 or more months...

I'm not drinking hardly and worst of worst I'm quite happy with glastonbury being cancelled again cos I just don't know if I'd be wanting to or able to do it.... Of course I would.. Lol

Not being able to get any help from the docs etc isn't helping I reckon.. Anyway that's me done..

Tinnitus is a nightmare. I know exactly what you’re going through. I’ve not tried them myself but I’ve been told to look into Flare Audio to try and reduce the annoyance of the ear ringing.

I tend to fall asleep with background noise, being in a silent room makes it difficult to sleep

For the younger festival goers on this forum, look after your ears, you may think occasional loud noise won’t affect you but over the years it certainly takes its toll. Permanent Tinnitus is really unpleasant. It’s not something you want to have.

+1 for a tinnitus sufferer...although kind of got used to it now, and most of the time don't notice it. So, yeah...look after your ears.

I'll see you your train set and raise you with this one (see below) - less than 5 minutes drive away from me. I tried to book a meal on it once for me and my wife. I think it was only about February time, and it had already sold out for the whole year!

You know, I don't spend as much time around here as I should. I've been catching up in these doldrums of lockdown January and just discovered this.

Outstanding post.

I imagine that thing steaming down the railway track at the Festival, on re-built tracks, all lit up like that.

It would be a fab site to see such a train run along the old railway line at the festival at night. Might be a little dangerous for those who were 'drawn' to the lights though.

Maybe a better idea would be something similar to this from the suitably names 'Avalon' Air Show;

Shit half hour that one ... one of my friends mums is in a home for dementia and now has a temperature likely from covid ... he’s had a call from the home about care .... best friends aunt is also in the same wing of the home ... they don’t test them because of the distress it causes 😞 .... added to that someone at work has unfortunately decided to end his life ... not someone I’m close to particularly but always someone I’d speak too ... that’s 2 guys in just over a year 😞
