Happy to join the first vaccination club today 😃 Turns out I’m team Oxford/AZ.

V smooth & well organised at Sportcity in Manchester. Shame about the torrential rain & hail walking to & from the car park!

Heading for my membership of the second vaccination club tomorrow afternoon, it’s an age indicator!😁 The  Pfizer jag for me.

Kids and adults alike love the castle art though you can imagine there are many who have complained! Reckon the queen could liven up Windsor castle or Buckingham palace by asking the Glastonbury bin painters to add a bit of colour.

It inspired me to paint my hut😉

I reckon thats an awesome idea - grabbing my brushes as we speak. on a serious note that street art on the castle looks fantastic - I now need to try to visit 🙂

I got my second jab this afternoon, they were playing RHCP in the sports hall where I went , and I found myself waiting for half an hour (pre jab =- there was a queue) , getting strangely emotional as it felt like another step to gigs and  music being back - I was singing behind my mask.  Anyway all done, did have to wait a while while the teams went up and down the queue asking if anyone was second jab pfizer or was first jab whilst they went and collected more AZ (I guess from the supplies) - guess someone calculated the amount they needed to defrost wrongly today 🤪

Just a little bit early here yet. There's a few about but not in any numbers yet. I'm hoping to get up to Buttermere, which is famous for them, before the hoards descend on us on the 17th

My second jag tomorrow, also the Pfizer, as you say it does feel like a giant step back to live music and socialising. There’s a great danger of many folk being conditioned to being alone and lockdowns the longer it goes on.  It can take a toll on mental health and a strain on relationships

My mum is getting her second dose of the vaccine today, and my dad on Tuesday next week. Hugely relieved for both.

Good stuff. My mum got her second last week so that's both of them fully done now, can confirm it's a massive relief.

As I've been stuck in bed for three months without much walking I've been getting extreme hip pain that goes away if I can move my leg around or with strong painkillers. In their wisdom the docs have decided to put me in an ambulance to take me to a hospital for an ex ray. The best answer would be not to have me caged in a bed for so many hours each day.

Good luck with the x ray.... presume you need to be caged into the bed, or physio these days has you up and abut doesn;t it ? (from my pure non medical opinion) .  Can you sit in a chair and relieve the pressure a little

Take care

The bed is a cage physio has me up and about but not enough or often enough to receive the hip pain.i can sit in a chair but only if I'm uncaged from the bed which they're not happy to do at around bedtime.because it's extra tasks for staff who have lots of people to deal with.the system here is a bit daft designed to make the staff as busy as possible.

Sorry to hear that, hopefully physio might help to alleviate pain and stiffness , if it’s recommended and available

I'm thinking sciatica brought on by reduced core strength and being prone all day. Xray won't show that up, MRI probably would. Suggest your best course of action is to insist on seeing a physio, a good one can work wonders speaking from experience. Probably help you to escape the bed too.

It's not sciatica I've suffered badly with that in the past.this is joint ppain from Bad position and too many hoursdays weeks in bed.if I was walking around each day I wouldn't have it.i see pysios each day for other stuff and it was probably the pysiowho arranged the x-ray to try and see if there's something else going on that can be sorted. im spending less time in bed now and moving more and the hip pain is lesser now than it's been for weeks.and I've been having less of the heavy painkillers I think they want me having less of the painkillers as that might be an obstacle to me going home when I get to that point.

Whatever the cause it sounds like the real solution is to get moving. We're not built for lying down all day (we're not really very well built for standing on two legs either but that's another matter). I would recommend pilates as part of your rehabilitation if you're not already doing it - it's very low impact, not as easy as it looks and very effective. I will say that physio's, as with any profession, come in a wide variety of abilities. I found a good one a few years ago, costs me £50 a session but I rarely need more than two sessions to sort an issue.

All the best for your recovery and getting free of the meds.

Spot on. There's good reason why I can't.. I'm in now moving more than I have been though and spending less time caged in a hospital bed.

I'm getting about four pysio sessions a week currently but they're not about my hip. And they're just about all the movement in getting. Whenni I'm done with that pysio I'll be able to have more normal daily movement. Hopefully within a few weeks.

Ouch @eFestivalsHope you are better soon. Sounds like you are having a tough time.

I woke up to fairly miserable election news etc but then I took the dogs for a walk and came across this and I don't know why but it made me laugh and cheered me up so thought I'd share it with some hopefully like minded people and hopefully it will have the same effect on you all.
