If they call them test events and it all goes horribly wrong the govt can claim it's not their fault. If they just open up and it all goes horribly wrong there's no escape for the govt it's called arse covering.

They are masters of this in all aspects - and always get away with it e.g. when they wanted to starve kids, Johnson made a ‘joke’ about Rashford being a more effective opposition leader than Starmer. Deflected away from the real issue.

Wonder how they will deal with the fact the young people have came out in thousands to get their jabs after months of trying to lay the foundations of blaming them for not wanting them?

Wasn’t there a report recently that people who had been vaccinated with a 12 week gap with Pfizer had higher levels of antibodies than those with a 3 week gap?

Or what that being a bit economical with the truth and a 4-6 week gap trumped them both?

Dunno, all the data I’ve seen on the mRNA ones suggest a 21-28 gap gives the optimum response. Certainly antibody levels start to wane with them after 4 weeks, but when boosted, look the same as those that had Pfizer’s recommended regimen (so no long term harm done). The AZ one benefits significantly from waiting for 8-9 weeks and is much better with the longer gap. In reality, they are all much better than we hoped they would be!

in fairness it is contained within this thread at least

Was just about to say the same 😉 The rest of the forum is pretty much business as usual isn’t it?

Like Neil pointed out I think the enforced lack of a festival for 2 years had made everyone a lot grumpier than normal mind you.

How are we looking for 100k cases a day for next week?

weren't the Warwick Uni models done in May, and obviously open to massive uncertainty...but what can you do? The models and forecasts are what they are, these aren't made by maniac introverted pro lockdown crazies, but by scientists and mathematicians.

I do remember there was a lot of derision in spring 2020 on here when some US modellers predicted 60k deaths in UK by the autumn....

when are they expecting to hit 70% double vaccinated? I read somewhere that was a goal to hit before July 19th reopening.

At the current rate of a 0.50% increase in total population second dosed they should hit 73.5% by 19 July, so 70% should be hit on 12 July if supply holds out

Nope. Paton and his other loon friends are all part of the so called 'Health Advisory and Recovery Team', another Tufton Street dark money funded disinformation outfit that has members like the fake 'Prof' Karol Sikora and  Clare Craig, plus other signatories to the Great Barrington Declaration.

Like Fake Sage but shitter.

Some people are following real alt right rabbit hole accounts.

Any links to things he’s said that’s rabbit hole stuff?

I haven’t seen his name pop up too often so he can’t be that controversial.

I’d hedge my bets that “dark money funded” is more rabbit hole than anything he’s ever said.

WTF? As someone marginally more to the introverted side I find this pretty bloody offensive, tbh.

Introversion has nothing to do with hypochondria or risk aversion. And it’s not some sort of cult - there’s no conspiracy of introverts out to keep the country locked down.

You’re also going straight for some seriously tired stereotypes of introversion assuming that it means we’re totally happy being stay at home hermits with zero social interaction.

Newsflash, that’s total BS - most introverts value a social life and their friends and family relationships as much as anyone - even if the way we interact with people can be a little different.

That’s not to mention that introversion v extroversion is an incredibly crude way to categorise people.

Using amateurish psychological terms to describe those you disagree with is a really bad look, please stop.

This needs all the upvotes. I keep seeing a complete misunderstanding of what the terms introvert and extrovert means!

I joined this forum for friendly Glastonbury advice.....bloody hell 😭😭😭

It's normally really nice in this forum. Just a bunch of twats have moved in since the pandemic. Hopefully it will revert to its usual troll-free vibe once the pandemic is over and this thread dies.

I think one of the reasons it's so nice in here is because it's quite hard to troll people when talking about festivals. Which is one reason why you may notice that some people post exclusively in this thread - but don't seem to be remotely interested in ones about, say, good news or, er, festivals.

The introverts have taken over, basically. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - you give these sort an inch and they take a mile.

If they had the chance would stop large events like glasto ever happening again as they are (1) extremely timid, (2) not that social and (3) so painfully hypochondriac that it doesn’t appeal to them. In an extroverts world they finally feel seen and don’t want to give it up. The reason why we fall for this as a nation is because we give it air time, the majority of Americans would laugh you out of the room if you started to advocate for a nanny state.

I find it absolutely crazy how many people seem to enjoy living their life in complete isolation by working remotely, not socialising, no holidays, and no cultural events. In any other era these nutters would be laughed at, not given front page of the news papers.

Honestly, you get flack for a lot of your shit on here Matt, but this is ridiculous and out of line, calling a whole group of people out for it.

I consider myself introverted, I don't do many social gatherings, pub nights, family events or the like. The thing that I feel most comfortable at is live music and festivals. You're being a piece of shit. Go fuck yourself.
