Did the Wembley trip several times back in the 70s, great you enjoyed the experience. A memorable trip!  I think that’s what is showing up the hypocrisy of Sturgeon telling folk from Manchester not to travel to Scotland yet saying nothing about us travelling in our thousands to London!  Double standards, you would have thought she would have thought twice before making her statement.  No wonder Burnham ain’t too happy, can’t blame him.

Manchester is intrinsically linked to Merseyside, the rest of Lancashire and Yorkshire. Just banning Greater Manchester is absolutely pointless. You either shut the borders to everyone or don't bother. She is just playing politics.

Yep I’ve absolutely no time for her pretending to be a football fan now it’s just cringe worthy. The Manchester thing is pathetic too it makes no sense at all. Team Burnham.

Correct. I think also she’s picked the wrong person to cross in Burnham.  She’s used to blaming Westminster and the big bad Tories for everything .  As a Scot who has just returned from a tremendous short break in England I am frankly embarrassed. She doesn’t speak for me.

That makes more sense to me if you booked somewhere. Just seemed to me like a lot of people came down to congregate but without screens I assume they didn't even watch it properly!

they wanted to go down and fuck the place up a bit and show the english their balls.

Question for those who are behind the 4 week extension. If Glastonbury was on this year and we dropped all restrictions tomorrow as originally planned and all other things were equal (delta variant in circulation etc) would you go to Glastonbury?

If I had a ticket, yes.

The introverts have taken over, basically. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - you give these sort an inch and they take a mile.

If they had the chance would stop large events like glasto ever happening again as they are (1) extremely timid, (2) not that social and (3) so painfully hypochondriac that it doesn’t appeal to them. In an extroverts world they finally feel seen and don’t want to give it up. The reason why we fall for this as a nation is because we give it air time, the majority of Americans would laugh you out of the room if you started to advocate for a nanny state.

I find it absolutely crazy how many people seem to enjoy living their life in complete isolation by working remotely, not socialising, no holidays, and no cultural events. In any other era these nutters would be laughed at, not given front page of the news papers.

Yup. We need to get rid of restrictions asap and get people back into a more normal state of mind.

You know when a poll goes not quite how they expected?

A higher proportion of our nation is now vaccinated in comparison to the US yet our attitude is predominately negative. What on earth is going on in the UK? I’m speechless about it.

an element of cautiousness after previous massive fuckups ?  im borderline on this hold off personally .... slightly swaying to the right thing to do ... when we get to 4 weeks time ... I think we should  open if hospitalisations are still in a manageable place ... which its likely they will be ... so nearly there .... I wont be holding the US as an example to us all though

Is Moderna the same given it’s the same type of vaccine?

Yeah, 4 weeks was the recommended gap. Israel did 21 days for Pfizer, we’ve mainly done 28, but some gaps are slightly longer or slightly shorter (depending on the cohort). None of the mRNA ones have been used here with a long 8-12 week gap (though I understand why the decision was taken in the UK at the time)…

More cautious as delta variant is dominant variant etc forever

Where is the evidence of this deadly delta variant? Around 6/7 deaths a day? More people probably died falling down the stairs in the past few hours than that.
