Maybe she wants to keep the delta variant out of Scotland as much as poss....but stopping Scotland fans travelling to London would have been super unpopular and super unrealistic.

I still don't really understand why they travelled here? Leicester Square is nowhere near the match. Wouldn't it have been more fun to watch it in a Scottish city? Baffling to me.

It’s an away day and a weekend away in one of the best cities in the world...

On the train back atm, had an unreal weekend, almost felt like normal times covid wise.

mask compliance is 0 percent in my carriage if anyone cares

Where did you watch it out of interest? Did you get into a pub?

I guess to me being in that part of central London on a Saturday night is hell in normal times so seems baffling to me to make such a long journey for it! Am only a pretty casual football viewer so I don't really get how these things work.

Yeah we booked a pub. I get it probs seems a bit pointless to go without tickets but it was a great time. They should have just put on a fan park with a huge screen.

It’s also a novelty for us cause we never qualify and just an excuse to go to London and drink overpriced drinks

the one in Glasgow looked amazing - should've made use of parks and had one English and one Scottish one in London

That makes more sense to me if you booked somewhere. Just seemed to me like a lot of people came down to congregate but without screens I assume they didn't even watch it properly!

The UK is standing by and watching its entertainment industry crumble. Please remember if these guys go, Glastonbury goes as well.

and a further closure kills off any chance they had once we reopen in 4 weeks ... the answer is to give them the support they need now

I’ve just received a text from the GP inviting me to book my second vaccine this week but only had the first one on 20th May. The latest I can book at the moment would be next Saturday (26th).

Should I book or leave a couple more weeks so I have the recommended 8-12 weeks between doses?

But we know the tories are not going to give them the support- see the article Stevie posted above which reinforces this.

Which vaccine? For AZN 8-12 weeks is better. For Pfizer, 3-6 weeks is seen to be fine.

Yeah it’s mad that they aren’t extending or offering any further financial support to those businesses.

I just hope they are able to rebuild an industry ... I dont know how much difference 1 month will make tbh ... im sure it will hit some ... hopefully that void will get filled by others ... who knows

It would of course be great.

However, the media again are just being sensationalist with little thought to everyone’s mental health.

Headlines both ways can both lift and shatter some people’s already delicate mental state.

After 15 months why has nothing been done? How is this fair?

The introverts have taken over, basically. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - you give these sort an inch and they take a mile.

If they had the chance would stop large events like glasto ever happening again as they are (1) extremely timid, (2) not that social and (3) so painfully hypochondriac that it doesn’t appeal to them. In an extroverts world they finally feel seen and don’t want to give it up. The reason why we fall for this as a nation is because we give it air time, the majority of Americans would laugh you out of the room if you started to advocate for a nanny state.

I find it absolutely crazy how many people seem to enjoy living their life in complete isolation by working remotely, not socialising, no holidays, and no cultural events. In any other era these nutters would be laughed at, not given front page of the news papers.

If you had Pfizer, then that gap should be fine.

Probably quite a lot of difference, given the 4 week extension wipes out most of one of the 2 most important months for festivals in the calendar year

Question for those who are behind the 4 week extension. If Glastonbury was on this year and we dropped all restrictions tomorrow as originally planned and all other things were equal (delta variant in circulation etc) would you go to Glastonbury?

Did the Wembley trip several times back in the 70s, great you enjoyed the experience. A memorable trip!  I think that’s what is showing up the hypocrisy of Sturgeon telling folk from Manchester not to travel to Scotland yet saying nothing about us travelling in our thousands to London!  Double standards, you would have thought she would have thought twice before making her statement.  No wonder Burnham ain’t too happy, can’t blame him.
