and it could. If had same as what happened in 1918, and with the growth of the world population, then this definitely could happen, which is why we should be prepared for it....and apparently we were quite well prepared for a flu pandemic...but as it turns out not a coronavirus pandemic.

I think on a music festival message board it’s a legitimate question to ask. It doesn’t suggest the OP doesn’t give a shit about anything else. Of course there are much bigger things to be worrie

I can’t get the following thought out of my head and it’s making the old bottom lip wobble: Wednesday evening at the 2021 festival, the sun has been out all day but temperature not stifling, perf

Howdy folks...sorry I'm late to the party! Was in a meeting and could see notifications coming up! So, looks very promising indeed. The vaccinated group not only didn't develop severe disease, bu

She came across as a lovely warm hearted person in it. I personally don't think the family should be angry about how she was portrayed & think the quote from the lawsuit was a bit over the top:

"In the legal documents, Evans’ estate claimed that she was “horrified and upset” after learning that the film “was actually a comedy intended to mock the Holocaust and Jewish culture”.

I can see how anyone that is from Khazikstan could be offended by Borat as it portrays it as a backward place.

But the other offensive stuff he says is clearly him trying to encourage arseholes to reveal their true self so he can expose them.

I agree. But the fact that they are upset about it does make me feel a bit uncomfortable about those scenes personally. She was one of the heroes of the film and came across like a lovely woman.

I can see why people might be annoyed around it but part of me just doesn't understand the whole hoo-ha around Christmas. I know it's slightly different because of the scale of it but we've seen we can do events differently and in a safe way (e.g. VE Day Celebrations and Easter), we the British can adapt to anything and I'm sure we'll be able to the same for both the Christmas and New Year period

I personally couldn't care less about Christmas and we have small gatherings anyway, but I don't think you can really compare to VE Day and Easter as the weather was very much on our side then. Can't see many people doing outdoor Christmas stuff.

The clue there is 'could'.

Modelling results are based on specific data given by others about the supposed characteristics of the infection, and where it's being done on new infections which by definition have limited data to work from.

And even if he got something spot on we'd likely never know, because of the interventions made to mitigate things.

In short, there's as much wrong in your understanding of what he's attempted as there is in his results.

It's surely better that interlectual predictions are attempted than the next best of a guess based on nothing at all.

I'm out having a substantial meal in a place that happens to be showing the football and the, err, restaurant owner says they had 15 police officers in here yesterday checking people had bought a burger, 2 of them were armed!

It's empty today, just me in here.

That's the trouble...and I'm sure in next year or so when economy is screwed people will argue lockdown wasn't worth it as numbers dead wasn't as bad as some predicted.
