Yeah, we will have to wait but its rather similar to the UK. Read an article that especially younger people are effected and nightclubs and discos are mentioned as hotspots where they get the Delta. Dutch government now thinks of moving one step back as they opened up nearly everything (masks only in public transport and the safety distance from around 1,5m is not kept by many people).

It’s a tricky one. With Delta, and between refuseniks and kids, I don’t think you can get to h*** i******** with vaccines alone. I think vaccinating down to 12 (I don’t think any country does lower?) massively helps with that.

I suppose that 20% of people don’t go to clubs and casinos so have said they wanted them closed as it doesn’t affect them. 

I suppose it’s a similar story for quarantining when coming from abroad or a 10pm curfew. If those people don’t go on hols or to the pub then they don’t care if the ones that do are impacted.

Shows that many people are only interested in what affects them personally which is a sad reflection on them.
I’m not interested in fishing or golf but I’d like to think I’d be able to give a balanced view on whether they should be allowed to go ahead or not without just saying ‘no more golf or fishing’ if asked in a survey.

The people surveyed surely haven't read the questions right. 1 in 3 people wanting a 10-day quarantine of returning from abroad regardless of Covid is weird, never mind the 19% wanting permanent 10pm curfews and club shutting. Some right drips about if it is legit

Because these people don't do any of those things, so wouldn't be affected. And they'd fee safer from any future pandemic. Remember half the country voted away our right to live and work in Europe because they had no interest in doing it for no real tangible benefit also.

@Toilet Duck stupid question but can you drink alcohol the night before getting your vaccine? I have a friend who is getting 2nd dose on Monday which is the morning after the footy final. Fair to say he will drink win or lose.

I know a guy who did study abroad in Prague but then voted for brexit... blows my mind.

Also I think a good few ex pats living in Spain etc voted for it. Madness.

Shouldn’t really make a whole lot of difference other than layering side effects on top of a hangover! (I had feck all side effects mind you, arm a bit sore, tender probably the better description, and I slept like a log for a couple of nights)…

I’d want to take a very hard look at the methodology & sampling for that poll. Does seem pretty bonkers.

I’m thinking the survey was completed by people who have been traumatised by  vampires and/ or have been abducted by aliens (not Spielbergs ET, the wrong Uns with the probes)- those supernatural / extra-terrestrial  problems wouldn’t happen if everyone stayed indoors at night.

I just happened to be in the city centre this afternoon - got 1 box from Boots ("second but last one!") then went to Superdrug and was given 2 because there are two of us in my household, then on my way home went into the local pharmacy and got another 1. My partner and I use them like yourself - before meeting large groups/people who might be a bit more vulnerable - so that should do us for a while! *Also, I've been going into the office a bit more and we are asked to do them for that too.
