California just posted new guidance for indoor events. It begins April 15th which is the same day anyone can get the vaccine.

Quote

Here are California’s new rules on indoor live events or performances beginning April 15, for venues with a capacity of up to 1,500 people:

  • In the purple tier: indoor live events or performances are not allowed.
  • In the red tier: capacity is limited to 10% or 100 people, but capacity increases to 25% if all guests are tested or show proof of full vaccination.
  • In the orange tier: capacity is limited to 15% or 200 people, but it increases to 35% if all guests are tested or show proof of full vaccination.
  • In the yellow tier: capacity in limited to 25% or 300 people, but it increases to 50% if all guests are tested or show proof of full vaccination.

For larger venues:

  • In the red tier: testing or proof of vaccination is required, and capacity is limited to 20%.
  • In the orange tier: capacity is limited to 10% or 2,000 people, but it increases to 35% if all guests are tested or show proof of full vaccination.
  • In the yellow tier: capacity is limited to 10% or 2,000 people, and it increases to 50% if all guests are tested or show proof of full vaccination.

In addition to the capacity limits, venues will have to make modifications like requiring advance ticket purchases, setting up designated areas for eating and drinking, and limiting attendance to in-state visitors.

Here are the state’s new rules on private events or meetings like receptions or conferences beginning April 15:

  • In the purple tier: private gatherings are only allowed outdoors and capacity is limited to 25 people. But if all guests are tested or show proof of full vaccination, capacity goes up to 100 people.
  • In the red tier: indoor gatherings are allowed with capacity limited to 100 people if all guests are tested or show proof of full vaccination. Outdoor gatherings are limited to 50 people, or 200 if all guests are tested or show proof of full vaccination.
  • In the orange tier: indoor activities are allowed if all guests are tested or show full proof of vaccination, but capacity is limited to 150 people. Outdoor gatherings are limited to 100 people, or 300 if all guests are tested or show proof of full vaccination.
  • In the yellow tier: indoor gatherings are allowed if all guests are tested or show full proof of vaccination; capacity is limited to 200 people. Outdoor gatherings are limited to 200 people, and capacity increases to 400 if all guests are tested or show proof of full vaccination.
  • If venues separate people into sections, people in the “fully vaccinated” section can sit shoulder to shoulder but they still must wear masks, according to state Public Health Officer Dr. Tomás Aragón.

“This is really going to be a pathway to allowing venues to meet the capacity limits,” Aragón said.

At first, people will have to bring their vaccination card with them, according to Aragón. But “we anticipate that in the future that the solution will be digital,” meaning people could potentially show proof of vaccination on their mobile phones.

Private events, including receptions or conferences, are allowed only outdoors in the purple tier and will be limited to 25 people. They’re allowed indoors in the red tier, but limited to 50 people. However, that capacity increases to 200 people if all guests are tested or show full proof of vaccination.

Well I believe that Drakeford should shoulder some of the blame for this, his constant pessimistic narrative has not helped morale one bit, it was only a matter of time we’d see scenes like this

He's only telling the truth, not what people want to hear like "Boris"

Drakeford has been an absolute shambles. He's one press conference away from announcing himself as Supreme Leader of Wales. At least he will be voted out soon.

Have you had the unfortunate pleasure of watching his full briefings? After a year of it, his messaging has been mixed, lacking clarity of what his changeable rules mean, and gets shirty when even slightly challenged on any of his plans/rules. Not forgetting his wilful neglect of the hospitality industry, which here in Wales is a major source of employment. As a mental health professional working within unscheduled care I am seeing the full force of how his “truth” and pessimism is having effect on the emotional wellbeing of the nation.

Boris has locked England down three times, he’s hardly a great freedom loving prime minister. Drakeford on the other hand is a monumental c**t of the highest order and I hope the people of Wales empty him next month.

Unclear if Drakeford joined them for a drink 🤷‍♂️

Not a mullet in sight! At least you can get your hair cut in Wales, it's like the 70's all over again in England with dodgy barnets everywhere. 😃

he needs to learn from Boris...people want optimism, even if it's bullshit.

Still, I guess helps Plaid Cymru and hurts labour in the end.

He’s gone too far the other way. It’s alright being the anti-Boris, but saying social distancing is going to continue until the end of the year is also bullshit. There’s a middle path and he certainly isn’t walking it.

Will be interesting to see the age of these cases and deaths, if they had one dose or two, and how many of the millions of doses has been given to people in lower age groups as that might drastically change the picture of how safe this vaccine is for younger people.

I still think the risks of covid are far greater, and wouldn't of halted the vaccinations, however, I don't really agree with them sneaking this news out over the easter weekend when people are unlikely to see it, this media management over here has helped create the feeling that overseas countries are just being spiteful with their stances on the AZ virus.

It doesn't seem to be an age thing if you have a read of longcovid stuff youll see a lot about blood clots it seems to be something triggered by covid rather than the vaccine.

There were always worries about public compliance. spaffer was upfront about it early on.getting compliance was important othwise the govt had nothing to lessen the threat of covid and if they hadn't they'd be condemned for not having done everything they can some people bought the scare more than others and expanded it with their own imagination and prejudices.

Alri lids so I know you all love a bit of covid chat in here so discuss this one for me ta: How has COVID19 and the related lockdown  impacted specifically on women AND/OR ethnic minority communities in the UK?

Women have done more housework and a disproportionate amount of childcare and home schooling.

Yep.

Mind you the media will also only use photos / angles that make places look much worse than they are. Only fuels those the flames of those who can’t use logic.

I'm more annoyed at the piles of rubbish left behind at some sites. Why we can't have nice things
