When will this shit end?

It’s another big step for the country on Monday ahead of the Easter break with people being allowed to socialise with a group of friends again. The vast majority have been patiently following the rules so this will be a big benefit to so many.

I think what we also need over the next few weeks is some decent warm weather, so that those who are now going to be meeting up in groups in gardens aren’t driven inside by the weather. I think people are much more likely to just go ah let’s go inside if their friends are round and it starts raining, than currently when they wouldn’t be meeting in the first place.

Weather conditions like the first lockdown this time last year would be ideal

absolutely very true ... we have just delayed a family meet at the weekend with weather looking a bit dodgy .ok it was 1 day early .. if it were friends it might well have been different

I have noticed that a lot of GP surgery's across the country are now offering to the over 45s - no under lying medical conditions.  Postcode lottery in operation.

Was just going to post something similar, my sister in law (45) and sister (47) have both been given appointments for next week. They live in different counties so it's luck of the draw but reassuring that we're making our way down the ages at such a pace.

This just popped up in a few places in my Twitter feed, including people now worrying that the Vaccine they’ve had won’t work. She’s also blocking others pointing out the studies that show she’s wrong. What on Earth is she playing at?

At the risk of attempting to understand the impossible, why are these eejits choosing to use milk to try and make whatever the hell their point is?

How long has he been carrying that around? Must be going off.

Decent weather expected early next week (at least down south!)

I think it's all about the hospitalisations and deaths figure as well going forward isn't it?

Providing those don't start stalling / increasing then we're on a good track.

Positive cases amongst those who are at very minimal risk is the ideal scenario.

Agreed. Cases are becomingly increasingly irrelevant with each passing day.

Ben Kentish of LBC doing proper journalism here and calling her out on it and trying to get her to retract

Indeed. The headline might as well have been "COVID rates behaving in line with predictions for reopening roadmap"

I find it very interesting that now many of those who get hospitalised are vaccinated (not all but not far off now) the briefings to papers started talking about antibodies from infection maybe being part of the vaccine passport plan.

Apart from this probably leading to one dose for previously infected like other countries (and maybe even go further and put them back in the queue to get more first doses where they're needed?), Many in this country would be stupid enough to get infected.

Now this enters the discourse I think herd immunity strategy is back on the table. It will be an interesting few weeks of policy decisions

On the WFH thing I like it just cos I don't like getting up at 5.30am and back by 7pm with 3hours+ of driving each day for a job I can very easily do from home....

What get me with my place is I'm still using my own computer and connecting via remote bloody desktop!! Find out my boss got her and one of the team new work laptops but missed me and the other team member off, she didn't even ask or let us know about it either - ridiculous tbh

It's not that I mind the office as such but I would like a hybrid model if possible.. Rishi obviously thinking of his own portfolio and pals when saying get back to the office
