Put in the sin bin for being a dick?

What have I said that’s wrong?

We can’t protect every person in the UK from all types of death. Covid will be with us forever in one way or another.
We should be celebrating the fact we got to this day, not talking it down as if it’s insignificant.

This article from Feb 18th gives a good account for when COVID will become endemic.

‘Covid-19 is still classed as in a pandemic phase because infections continue to increase worldwide and many people are still susceptible. In an endemic phase the number of infections becomes relatively constant across years, with occasional flare-ups.’

Yeah but the NHS is the problem really, if it filled up with 40 to 65 year olds we're still screwed even if deaths stay low. Few weeks and we're there

I knew there would be mentions of variants in there and I wasn’t disappointed 😆😆

They just can’t help themselves.

Oh I’m not saying lift all restrictions today, far from it but today is a very significant day.
Healthy over 55’s are starting to be vaccinated in all areas as of today, some areas are probably far past that.
Over 18’s who are more susceptible to severe disease will have their protection by the middle to end of this month.
Some people can’t get used to the idea that the pandemic is rapidly coming to an end in this county.

People are complaining as they look over the Irish Sea and see you guys absolutely hammering it!

Would it be possible if the UK has a surplus come June that we send some of it to Ireland first? Makes senses given the land border and possibly try to smooth over recent tensions. Add in the recent talk of UK/Ireland World Cup bid..

Not sure whether that's allowed though?

.... and some are far behind too. I'm in Group 6 and still waiting. 59 with Type 1 Diabetes. It's great that they're moving on to Groups 7 and 8, but please don't assume that all the willing recipients of prior Groups have now had their first jab. It all comes down to vaccine supply in your local area.

You can just book it online, you shouldn’t be waiting:

Both governments have already been discussing it according to reports, so if we are still stuck for doses at that stage, I think it could happen, especially as you say with the shared border and common travel area, it makes sense to get everyone done as quickly as we can. The projected deliveries in Q2 are a lot better than Q1 though, so even though we haven’t had loads yet, it’s not actually behind schedule. In fact, AZ wasn’t pencilled in for deliver until now at the earliest, so we’re still on track. Originally, they were saying over 50s done by June, but the switch to the longer gap now has them saying offered to everyone by then.

Thanks.

The update from our local PCN 7 days ago in relation to our Local Vaccination Centre stated that they were moving on to Group 6 and that "We have in the region of 6000 patients to vaccinate. We are processing this as quickly as we can however are not in control of our vaccine delivery. Therefore it will take us time."

Based on that they need to stop selling tickets to younger people because most won't have had both injections by the time most festivals happen

Obviously those interviewed don't have that problem 😂
