Yeah it is clear the Scottish numbers are outdated now and based on what I hear from my boss at work, the predicted supply is changing every day. I think your info seems good about mid march signalling a big ramp up.

Deliberately used ramp up in the hope it annoys whoever was annoyed by it

Yeah the Scottish numbers aren’t 100% accurate and they’re a couple of weeks out of date but even still it’s clear that a ramp up is coming.

I continue to believe all adults will be offered a vaccine far earlier than the end of July, probably around the end of May or start of June

Has anyone been able to book a second dose that didn’t get informed when they had their first one the date of the second ? My dad said he’s done it but wasn’t sure the link he used ?!

Don’t know what situation is down south but all I was told when I was jagged (jabbed) was that I would be sent a letter of an appointment for the second dose.

Yeah I think I’ll just wait ... not like anything is happening that I need to get it done in time for 😀

Few people on social media are saying you can book a vaccine online on the NHS website  if youre over 55 (Despite the front page saying differently). I cant tell myself but let me know if anyone manages it on here!

Just tried now and looks like the service is currently down 😥

Nah you are over egging it.  The vast majority of people are easily replaceable.  Its only medical professionals who are hard to replace - a massive chunk of NHS staff are in supporting roles.  And most of them have limited options of alternative employment (the medical ones).

The long story is short - I am right.  Don't worry.  Anti Vax morons have no place in a modern health care setting.

If we are all so easily replaceable next time you need the nhs for anything just ask your mates to sort it all for you in thr comfort of your own home

According to my Facebook feeds from NHS Scotland regions they have just started the any age group with underlying health conditions, so hearing about 55 year olds booking in England makes me feel a bit anxious.  Why is Scotland behind England in the plan?  The distribution is supposed to be prorated by population after all.

So is the take up lower in England or is the Scottish population older and unhealthier?

Or is it just regional variations?  At this rate my little sister will be getting her jab a month before I do.  I know it is good for everyone, but I'm worried that Scotland will be lagging behind the rest of the UK.

I had a glass of wine in my hand half an hour after being jabbed, so I hope it's bollocks! 😄

I'm planning a pint in a beer garden as a reward when I have mine! Hate needles. Have go into Chester for it anyway, it will probably be the first time I leave my small village this year and if last year is anything to go by the weather will be good by then, so would be rude not to!

It’s honestly hardly noticeable ... I know that probably won’t help too much but it really is such a fine needle

If it's anything like the seasonal flu jab it's more like the Star Trek jabs. I didn't have even notice there was a needle.   Love the idea of a beer garden.😁

Oxford seems to be doing better in the real world than it was in the trials

That’s not entirely true as those that got the vaccine in the trials as it is currently being used (with the longer gap) did very well. It was the shorter gap that led to the lower apparent efficacy (and that observation from the trials is what led to the current guidance for use). Protection from hospitalisation and severe disease was 100% in the trials, but slightly lower (as you would expect) in real world use. Still doing great though!

edit: I would say though that here, we’ve been picking through the data from the trials etc with a fine tooth comb, so we could see how good the OX/AZ vaccine really was...if press coverage was all you were going on, you’d be forgiven for thinking it wasn’t great and is now fantastic!

You also know the support staff dont grow overnight I'm sure.

This isn't about the vaccine btw but maybe being told 99percent of people i work with are replaceable and have no skills or knowledge is in itself an idiotic comment.

As long as you don't look when they're injecting you, you'll barely know they've even done it.

It's not they don't have skills.  Just people out of the nhs have skills and abilities to replace the handful of absolute fuck knuckles who won't take the vaccine.

Welcome to the real world.

Takes a lot for me to downvote anyone, but your attitude stinks.

You clearly have no understanding on how the NHS works then, do you not think the support staff have specialist skills, they support doctors and clinicians and we wouldn’t be who we are without them. So no there not easily replaceable and without them the NHS would be a much different and worse state of affairs.
