Nah, the guy has plenty to say about other people's actions during this pandemic and how people are spreading the virus, but he is less happy to be called out as a hypocrite.

Thinks pubs should never have reopened because they’re apparently spreading the virus (never mind people’s livelihoods) but no issues with going on holiday to another country.

Key workers in the public sector bar NHS staff are seeing a pay freeze next year. That’s some thanks to some of the people that have kept key parts of our country running through this pandemic. Meanwhile they throw money to their friends through these dodgy contract deals. What a despicable bunch we have in our government running the country right now.

History will not remember them fondly.

He is completely correct in that this is going to increase cases. However taking a purely medical view on this isn’t helpful.  We need to understand peoples behaviour and what is likely to make them adhere to the restrictions, particularly at a unique time of Christmas . I think they’ve struck the right balance here in their approach to be fair to them, to try and minimise the risk as much as possible.

we'll see what numbers are like in January. With the correct messaging and support they could have had stricter restrictions this christmas, but this govt are no good at that sort of thing...and a lot of trust is gone anyway.

Nice that poorer countries will lose out on some aid because we have some debts to pay off and some new bombs to buy.

That’s disgusting too. We are the 5th richest country in the world and cutting foreign aid in the middle of a pandemic whilst spending billions more on defence is shameful.

Haha a national infrastructure bank. Another ’looney left money tree’ policy nicked straight from Corbyn’s manifesto 🥴

Hopefully they don't sell this one off after a couple of years. Lib Dems forced them to start a green investment bank as part of the coalition. It was a massive success funding loads of positive projects whilst making a profit. First thing Tories did when they were back in sole power. Sold it off 😠

Sorry to hear you are impacted. I work in the private sector but believe that all key workers should receive a pay rise no matter what happens with my own salary. The work that’s been done this year deserves actual recognition not just lip service and pointless gestures.

I've always thought that surely they'd strike some sort of deal...but starting to think maybe they won't. Blimey.

The EU, US and UK all know that eventually the UK has to back down and do a U-Turn. The question is how long left they have to drag it out before they have to do it. They’re probably waiting for the next major crisis to take over the headlines and then try and slip the U-Turn in when the media is distracted elsewhere.

Yeah, it does seem like posturing. At least lets hope so!

The Tory bastards have always hated public sector workers. It must have really hurt them to pretend to love us & clap every Thursday. Now we see their true colours.

well, they're running out of time...unless they'll actually do a deal early next year after a short period of disruption.
