To be fair, it gave me three categories, sports, IT and management. I run a team of software developers, so I reckon it's not far off. Good job I don't have any intention of retraining!

Seems lots of people are getting actor. So do I retrain as an actor first, then a yardman?

I did that career assessment thing earlier, and despite saying I don't like practical tasks or using my hands, 'manufacturing' was the top category for me - which made me think they haven't quite got the algorithm right in this either.

The one job it mentioned that I actually do like the sound of is funeral director. Considering how unhappy I am in my current work, it might be something I'll actually look into at some point..

Depends how you class manufacturing tbh as I work in that sector in compliance which involves zero manual working with your hands

There is a whole host of jobs under that catergory which are probably not what you would expect

I had a go for the craic...top of the list was Science & Higher Education Lecturer (which is lucky!)...most excitingly though, next on the list was Archaeologist...always did want to be Indiana Jones!

True, although the 4 jobs it identified me were foundry process operator, brewery worker, microbrewer and leather technologist. All very interesting indeed but certainly not a good fit for me 😂

Was actually thinking of a day trip to Bournemouth soon... is it any good?

Yep - just don’t go down by the   main pier in town - head further down towards Boscombe pier or even further towards Southbourne ( Southbourne beach pics 2 weeks ago!)

It used to be what Brighton is now to better off Londoners in the 1950s.

Then they all retired there. :P

Actually not so many retirees nowadays -  loads of families re-locating now from London sending house prices up and we have 1000’s of students as well ! And of course loads of day trippers when the sun shines!

Did we ever work out if that data was counting inter-household transmission too?  What we're talking about should be how the virus gets into a household since generally speaking if someone in the household gets it, there's a very good chance everyone else will be infected.  But me passing the virus onto my wife is completely irrelevant to the discussion on which socialising is most dangerous.

No we never get a look at the data we're just get occasional statements from those with access to it. I suspect household visits are still responsible for the majority of interhouse transmission but again I think that's just because more people are doing it not necessarily because it's inherently more dangerous.

Ultimately I think people need to do less of everything, in an ideal world the government would be able to get this message across without further restrictions but I don't think that's possible given the government's useless messaging so far. Up here in the Central Belt we can't do much for the next 2 weeks and it's grim hopefully it helps.

Just reading the possible restrictions on The Guardian website. Don't these two for level 2 massively contradict each other? Or is  holiday an essential reason now? Or does it mean only travel on public transport (which means pretty much all travel for people without cars)?

  • People should only travel for essential reasons.

  • People can holiday outside of your area but should only do so with the people they live with or have formed a social bubble with.

Particularly interested as going away for a week on Saturday. I think the restrictions will come in while we are away (although am hoping we are going from one level 1 area to another).

I guess you could class your return journey as essential.

You think London will have tier2 restrictions?

Try having a convo with people around the idea that flying might have to be restricted to help save the planet, and you'll find out that in some people's eyes it's a human right. ;)

I personally think until there’s a way of having green planes that’s a pipe dream.
