can't really trust the numbers, looks like they've fucked that up too.

Just have to go by hospitalisation/death numbers until things settled down and we can see where we are.

but the cases have happened though  just are listed in the wrong place .... something whitty had some knowledge of ?

The figures are correct at least in the fact that they aren't any lower than this. So you can be assured that the 22,961 cases are genuine recorded cases within the last week. We shouldn't ignore the case numbers because of the issues.

yes, sure...but they would have been spread out throughout the week. So increase in cases looks massive when it would have been more gradual....and actual daily amount may be half what has been recorded today.

I know, it does move rather quickly! I think somebody speculated on what the other one was, with the Oxford vaccine being the obvious one.

Tis likely the Pfizer one (Moderna claims its vaccine can be stored at higher temps, but the Pfizer one needs at ultra low temp which is a bit of a pain!)...

Those numbers surely have to settle down over the next few days.  I think they are at least to some extent the result of the difficulties the testing system had for a few days about a week or so ago and backlog/surge being dealt with.

Yeah which means that the idea last week that things were improving was sadly not accurate. You could see the trend in the Imperial College data, which showed in that first graph prevalence was rising slowly.

This is saying that the figure on the 2nd of october (friday) were recorded as 6,958 and were actually around 11,000, damn so figures must be still rising, they got our hopes up on thursday and friday

yeah...definitely...so...just have to take daily numbers with a pinch of salt and look at weekly figures and how much rising. What a mess.

Yeah, looks like the Moderna one isn't likely to be ready until March or April, at least in America, presumably the timeframes will be similar here:

might be ready tomorrow if trump adds it to his cocktail ...

10s of thousands of employees across the uk are losing there jobs simply because it's hard to run a business in a pandemic. Hardworking, often treated like crap by terrible companies and egotistical bosses, but put their heads down and work a 9-5 or longer a week.

But the government, makes mistake after mistake, costing thousands of lives and billions of pounds, fuck up education, health track and trace, don't understand their own rules and can't publish their own data and yet the only Tory Ministers punished where the ones who didn't let Domcum off the hook.

If these people aren't held accountable how can his really be a democracy.

it's gonna be a long four years

It really isn’t fair- people pay the price, lose their jobs, life or health, for their incompetence and they come out of it completely unscathed- they keep their jobs or end up with a cushy job to replace it. Unfortunately enough voters said they were more than happy to support this shower (and still do) in return for another shit show (brexit), so they’re basically saying it is okay and are fine for it to get worse.
