Quite possibly.... But then again it's America so I think they're predicting to properly be in it for the long haul

Yeah you can’t predict what is going to happen over here based on what’s going on over there.

America isn’t coming out of their first wave anytime soon.

Yep, just had a conference in Texas in December cancelled today...kinda relieved to be honest!

Until Joe is inaugurated trump is still in.

but trump will win a second term so I fear things will continue :(

No he won’t. Have you seen the polls? He’s losing in Texas. Texas. The historically Republican state. He’s done for.

It's not all bad news.....

Hospital admissions are down....

Patients in hospital are down....

Patients on respirators are down....

Ratio of positive cases/tests is......you guessed it....down (see below)

Deaths are unfortunately up.....but only by 13 on equivalent point last Tues/Weds.

Admissions and therefore deaths will be lagging a couple of weeks behind unfortunately...

Ah yes every poll ran by CNN which famously predicted Hilary dominating it right up until the end.

You understand the difference between a 3 point national lead on average and a 9 point average lead?

And fox news polls have biden ahead by around 12 anyway.

The US is a complete mess and all but the most hardcore of Trump supporters are beginning to see it. Yesterday they had the equivalent of 1 death every minute from Covid, the majority in Texas. They are about to stop testing in Florida and using a fairly mild tropical storm as the excuse.

Trump runs his campaign based on jobs and the economy mostly doesn’t he ? How’s he doing on that front at the moment ? And can you see any vast big improvements over the next few months the way covid is going ?

The national polls weren't too far off being correct with Clinton carrying the popular vote by 2.1%. The error by everybody was using National polls to try and predict what would happen across what is essentially 50 different contests. Trump won Michigan, Penslyvania and Wisconsin, and thus enough to hit 270 in the electoral college, by under 1% and a culmulative total of 67k votes. He's behind in all 3 states currently and that's before you even consider wildcards like Texas, Georgia and Florida due to being smashed by Covid.

It will tighten when they start directly campaigning  against each other due to his shiny teflon head that nothing sticks to, but he's in a lot of trouble currently that can't be explainined away by " but the 2016 polls!'

Very true....but the point is that at present the increase in cases is not significant, and wayyyy down on rates a couple of months back, so when these are reflected in admissions our health services will be able to cope.  What matters most now is for everyone to keep their guard up, and not assume it's all over.  Young and old included.

I just think the bigger problem will be he wont accept any defeat and will try to drag things out and not allow any type of transition. What he doesnt understand is that even if it does get tied up in court, he is literally out of office in January 21. The speaker of the house is sworn in and thats that. Also you know he will keep reversing any obama era legislation and such even though  an administration that is on the way out isnt supposed to push through any new legislation. Im sure if there ended up being a supreme court seat up for grabs on the last day he is in office, there easily will be a slimey move made to make it a GOP pick. Then again, Kavanaugh will probably get ousted from his seat if the Dems get their way.
