Shopping-wise we're lucky. There's a cash and carry up the road that normally serves all the hotels, bars and restaurants in the area. Now that has dried up they are open to everyone locally. It's easy, even preferable, to buy in bulk. They deliver or offer collect.

There's also a few farm shops close by who do the same. We usually try and support other local businesses at the best of times but we feel it's even more important now.

The lake district is closed though which helps with numbers of people I suppose. There was footage the other day of the local police escorting a car back to the M6. Strange times indeed.

absolutely those small independents are the ones that are more than likely won't have had the shelves stripped bare ( although this has massively improved of late ) and at the moment would be a far more sensible option to visit ... im staying away from supermarkets and I work in one ... so that really doesnt need me to say much more ... :)

Cram as much as you can in your basket and go as few times as possible.

This is me.  I don't drive so only as much as I can carry in a couple of glastonbury yeo valley bags.  Today I honestly thought the basket was going to break under the strain!  I go once a week and am fine for everything, today I bought gin, tonic and ice cubes on top of the catfood, baccie and few basics which were the main things I was almost out of and couldn't live without.

One big Tesco in London by the highway had a queue across the whole parking lot. It looked like a queue for a rollercoaster ride.

I went to asda at the bottom of my street, about 1/3 of the car park in a snaking queue, took about 40 minutes to get in.  Everyone was respectfully observant of the measures.  It took a half day of mental preparation and beta blockers to make the 200m walk to the shop, I'm sat with a pint of gin and tonic now finally able to relax.

Yesterday in the car park behind my flat a group of about 3 adults and their kids spent about an hour and a half playing in the sun. Today this group with 2 more adults (on occasion) were back. Partly they annoyed me making noise whilst I was working and have my windows open but also the annoyance of them ignoring lockdown rules.

So I contacted my cousin who works for the police, who shortly sent a van out to get them to go inside. I also raised the complaint on Sussex Polices website too.

Yes I'm bit of a square but it's winding me up that people think they can do what they want just because the sun is out. My only regret is that Raab didn't personally thank me in the press conference, typical Tory.

I do. I just got told to go home by a PCSO, I pointed at my house 50ft away, said there wasn’t much point then.

I don't think that makes you a bit of a square in this situation - it's life and death we're talking about here.

We knew there was people in one of the closed pubs the other day and my mate called the rozzers.

It's OK to be a grass right now.  Actually, it's good.

This clapping for carers thing? Who is it actually helping?

In what sense? I find it quite cathartic to feel connected to my local community during the clap. We keep thinking of ourselves as isolated, and that reminds me I'm really not.

people opposite have been out twice today. Calling the cops.

I dunno if you're mocking me or not?

The shops thing I understand if you need to go to the shops more than once a week, but to play in a car park in the sun at this time seems ridiculous.

This is a wind up, right?! What part of the current lockdown do you not understand? People are continuing to die, is it really acceptable to just nip out for beer?

In Peru they restricted the sale of alcohol as its a nonessential item, seems to make sense to me.

Although of course you could still get it if you tried, but that was the official line.

East Wittering, just South of Chichester. Efests wouldn’t let me upload high quality pic (prob due to panorama) but Selsey Manhood Peninsular is the the far distance looking East & Isle of Wight is South West & Portsmouth West of where I was sat.

Popular place for holiday/second homes & retired folk, sailing & water-sports enthusiasts and motorsport. Ronnie Wood, Damon Hill & Branson’s mom live down the road.

edit: I have to say it’s lovely during the summer but winter, it’s horrible, especially when we had those storms a couple of months ago.

Not far from me mate, I'm down the road in Worthing.

Sorry, I really don't understand this. I literally just googled the government guidelines...what I've said is totally in line with it. A once (twice if necessary) a week shop, when I stay 6ft away from everyone and they are the only people I'm remotely near all week, is well within the rules.

I also don't see that this level of scrutiny and judgement helps anyone...?

This level of scrutiny and judgement is not helping anyone.  We just do not know enough from a quick snap on a mobile phone, or a short question on an internet forum to be so condemnatory.

We do need to be considerate, sensible and stay sane.

I am teetotal. but "cheers" from me when you crack open one of your beers.

I guess I was mocking you...but to be honest each to their own. They were taking the piss, so feck'em.

I don't know...in the sense that we love the NHS etc but we'll continue to vote tory because we are loving this low tax thing. So, we'll clap them, and that makes it all ok.

It is restricted here, most beer outlets are completely closed, they are called pubs, clubs, bars, cafes and festivals.

Brighton here.  I am worried about you lot, lots of older people (no?), how are you all?

Yeah Worthing does tend to have a lot of older people. My sisters work in the hospital in the children's wards but what I've gathered it has been coping so far.

Yeah shopping is clearly the most dangerous thing most of us - except the key workers obvs - will do in a day.

Each time I go shopping I feel more anxious doing so. Full respect to people working in shops all day, unsung heroes for sure.

The problem I find when in a supermarket is that folk are still browsing and spending ages making their selections.  They really should be in with a prepared list.  Well done those who are having to work in shops and supermarkets

I dunno. I had a list today but mostly everything (important stuff like pasta anyway) was sold out so I ended up circling getting more and more flustered :)
