Glad to see love for Homer at the Bat. There's something special about that episode. I don't even like baseball but I get chills watching the closing credits.

Gonna try my top 10 off the top of my head.

Homer at the Bat

Marge vs Monorail

Homer Goes to College

$pringfield (or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Legalized Gambling)

Homie The Clown

Bart Sells His Soul

Last Exit To Springfield

Homer Loves Flanders

Marge On The Lam

Rosebud

Simpsons season 1 - 8 is the best show ever created.

Maybe the only thing I love more than Glastonbury is The Simpsons. I wish I still had a copy of my first year animation paper about it where I rbled on for 5000 words about how much I loved it and got a 2:1 (thank you mdma). The top 10s here are all about right, although I'd put You Only Move Twice much higher, I've gotta give a shout out to the 300th episode that was the coming together of everything I loved as a boy and isy personal point it dropped off

You can tell from the time I've written this that it doesn't need to be read but

I can't even get in to listing my favourite episodes. For me everything in seasons 3 through 7 is the peak of television. Quality starts to dip from there but obviously some all timers in seasons 8-10 as well.

Just saw this on one of the "Simpsons quotes" FB groups and made me chuckle

So how much are the simpsons part of the general culture in the UK?

Over here it is probably as big as football, and I'm not exaggerating. A national TV channel shows the Simpsons since 90 and they've been doing 8-9 hours marathons on weekends for about 10 years now.
Quotes from prime Simpsons are used in everyday life, specially the 25-45 years old gap.

Examples:
I call the big one Bitey

Lisa needs braces, Dental plan!

Will somebody please think of the children?

You don't make friends with salad.

You'll have to speak up, I'm wearing a towel

Where's my burrito?!

and anytime somebody says someone/something came back, lots of people will follow it up with "in pog form".

and lots more (all of these in their latin Spanish translation obviously).

In my top 10 scenes ever..

You just reminded me of Saturday's of Thunder (with the soapbox racing)...I particularly like the bit with Patty and Selma

"Oh my god, I don't know Jack about my boy! I'm a bad father"

"You're also fat"

"I'm also fat!!"
