From tomorrow, mass gatherings won't be supported with emergency workers.

No end date mentioned so far

Mass gatherings not banned but government pulled all support from them. All people advised to avoid mass gatherings big or small and non essential travel. This will go on for 12 weeks or longer

I only heard the 12 weeks in relation to vulnerable persons' measures, not the mass gatherings.

A moot point though likely.

No business or event can operative on such a high degree of uncertainty. It will be cancelled.

Exactly. These measures will be different by June, we’ll see certain restrictions but it’ll go ahead still.

Can The Coronas play!?

Only way is to delay payment date and play the long game , if Glastonbury can't then it has to be cancelled now sadly

People speculating about license restrictions, people speculating about their ability to get insurance, etc. etc.

As usual, everyone's a fucking expert all of a sudden.

Everything is speculation until it's cancelled.

I’m assuming Glastonbury works based on volunteers? So pulling support is irrelevant, but if they cancel all leave for NHS it is the relevant. That’s not allowing for the moral questions around NHS staff using their leave to go to Glastonbury and not help out elsewhere

"From tomorrow government will no longer be "supporting" mass gatherings using emergency workers"

If police = emergency worker then you can't run a festival without the police - simply impossible. Since the timeline for this thing to play out is way beyond the point of no return for festival investment, then there's only one conclusion.

Would love to be positive but I don't have a bucket of sand to stuff my head in.

We guessed he was going to ban public gatherings, he hasn’t put a timestamp on it, so why are people saying it’s defo going to be off now when we’ve literally learnt nothing new? If WE could’ve guessed this, then Emily did when she put the line up poster out last week.

edit - this isn’t me being positive or trying to stay in good spirits, I’m just relaying my opinion

Are you trying to imply that the UK is abandoning its hope of herd immunity?

I suppose that bits a bit vague, unless I’m missing something you’d think the police won’t be particularly stretched with a lot of people on self imposed lockdown
