There has also been some talk that they are having good success with an existing drug (Chloroquine and other similar variants) hence why their death rate is so low (just under 1%).

Chloroquine is traditionally an anti-malarial drug and is essentially quinine based.  There is significant resistance to it by the plasmodium parasite in many areas however so it's efficacy is now very limited as a malarial prophylactic.

if it works for COVID-19 then rock on....anyone for a G&T....just off to stockpile some Fever Tree.

Spare a thought for Michael,Emily and the whole glasto team at the moment. They are bound to be inundated with enquiries from artists, workers, volunteer organisations, traders who are wondering about ordering stock and of course us festival goers. I am sure they will make the correct call. But it’s quite a pressure situation for them.

It's not over until it's over, guys.

We're in an unprecedented situation right now and we're all speculating.  I genuinely believe there are good arguments on either side but, ultimately, we don't have any clear guidance from the government about Summer events yet.

I'm preparing myself for the worst but simultaneously allowing myself to believe.

Jesus Christ!

And? Do you seriously believe we are all in this together? Does that include the people forced onto Universal Credit, using Food Banks or our criminally underfunded Emergency Services? This government has killed 200,000 people by stealth, why do you suddenly think they will do the right thing? Leaving the hospitality and entertainment industry to fend for itself is the tip of the iceberg. Why would a racist, misogynist toff who abused beggars when he was at Public School suddenly gain a moral compass?

I work in a gallery in Essex, supported by The Tate (who have just closed all their venues)They've just send an email out we're on a skeleton like crew, no office staff apart from a few essentials, no events, no cinema (we show art films) no front desk person, shop closed but we're keeping the galleries open because we can't close down due to being a public and government funded building until the government say so.

Honestly. This is stupid.

Dude, I'm in no mood to argue about politics. All the best to you.

Have you join the 100% club? We are having our own party on site at an undisclosed location.

Do we need a thread devoted to positive outlook around the 2020 festival? (if there isn't one already)

feel free to create a topic with something to talk about, same as always.

However, as the coronavirus crisis is the biggest news around Glastonbury at the moment a thread to discuss it is going to stay here.

If the festival doesn't go ahead, do we see it as a postponement or outright cancellation?

Its being discussed in the other thread but I really can't see anyway they postpone it, theres too many things that go into Glastonbury thats not even including the licensing agreements
