Wasn't a fan of RAM and the "sound of the summer" and I could take or leave Discovery but Homework is genre-defining. Right up there with the greatest electronic albums ever and the best from the 90s. The Tron OST is underrated too, in my opinion.

In the early days beforehand, their sets were pretty hard and as they moved into a more Moroder/disco-influenced sound, Justice and the rest of the Ed Banger gang picked up the baton from DP when they arrived on the scene in the early-to-mid 2000s for my taste but one of my favourite ever gigs was Daft Punk at Hyde Park in 07. The only time I managed to catch them.

There seemed to be a clamour for DP to return to the live stage, particularly from America after the EDM explosion but that was probably due to the more radio-friendly sound of RAM, and "that song". I'd made peace that I'd probably never see them live again a long time ago, I guess now it's definitely over. Such a shame, that "Alive" show from 07 was absolutely made for the Pyramid. Would've been a match made in electro-heaven.
