This is not my type of music at all but this has a massive market at glasto and it’s what some people buy tickets to the festival expecting to see. Come into the reality boat chum. Let’s just let glasto book him to headline and get it over with. #GetEzraBookingDone and let’s move on. haha, a rare +1 from me to you for the brexit segue. i know this sounds pedantic, but this looks late in the set and i was only there for the first half. he was support to stormzy so possible the field filled up towards the end? all i remember really is that my pals were pretty close to the front, just behind the second barrier and slightly left and it was easy as pie to get to them and then later to get away through what was a gappy crowd. anyway, i'm sure you're right that he'll headline. i just think it'll be a damp squib. also to the above post that inferred he was a big brave boy for not pulling out - he had a sprained ankle. A SPRAINED ANKLE. its hardly bert trautmann.

From a bookers perspective, he's a dependable, popular booking. If his career continues on the same trajectory, him headlining would make a lot of sense. I would be elsewhere though. I wouldn't even be annoyed, sometimes its good to have a bit of beige on the Pyramid so there's one less clash to consider
chazwwe
I don't think it'll be 21' his albums were 4 years apart and as far as I know he's only really just stopped touring. So I can't really even see an album out before next summer. I think he'd be a really safe booking as a new headliner in 22' my worry is it in my head then looks like Coldplay/George Ezra as 2 of the headliners and that makes me sad. I think you are right about Ezra looking more likely for 2022 but no need to worry about Coldplay / Ezra in the same year as I reckon Coldplay might be next year. If they have another album out this year, 2021 would be a far better fit than 2022. I know 5 years is short, but would fit in more with their album releases. Matt42
I reckon he’ll be booked before the next album is out and headline with just a few new singles. I won’t be surprised if he’s already booked for 2021. Feeling very confident that he’s in the frame.

Would not the songs from Tranquillity Base Hotel & Casino go down badly on The Pyramid ? And certainly the viewers at home would soon switch off with boredom and shout "WTF is this ? They have more well-known songs (that they would play) than most likely headliners so I wouldn't worry about it.

Paul McCartney - She's a big fan of Beat Bugs so is familiar with a fair amount of Beatles songs but does in general prefer the animated minibeasts to the originals although quite likes the proper version of Ob-la-di Ob-la-da. Taylor Swift - She loves the version of Shake It Off from the soundtrack to the film Sing but definitely wants Reese Witherspoon and Nick Kroll as pigs rather than Taylor. Earlier today she was riding on my back and pretending I was a horse, she then decided to be a baby horse and I tried to explain that baby horses were called FOALS but she was having none of it.

Gingerfish79
The XX are recording and assuming the album will be out late 2020, they could well headline in 2021. Already headlined Other and sub’d Pyramid.

I think they also fall into the too big to sub too small to headline bracket now. Nevertheless I’d actually love an XX headlining set and I think they’d do a good job so wait and see. I think they are more likely to come back and headline the other stage though.

Ayrshire Chris
Reckon it could be capaldi, if he doesn’t appear this year, a band such as U2/Muse/coldplay or finallyFleetwood Mac and a female headliner which could be billy Eilish if her status continues to rise. One things for sure, there will be moans, complaints and the oh it’s not glasto anymore jibes but it will still be a unique incredible experience that whoever is lucky enough to get tickets will never forget! I enjoyed them before Radiohead but I never listen to the albums. Jamie’s stuff is way better. Depends on how the next album goes but you’re right they’re in no mans land I think. Room to sway
It's been heavily implied by the organisers that the remaining headliner is a single male who has never played the festival before.
